This is a lovely hotel with the kindest staff. The free and secure car park is just around the corner and has plenty of space and is easy to access with a gate code.
The hotel is in a great position for the lively new town with loads of shops, bars and restaurants. It is a nice 10 minute stroll to the tiny old town which has picturesque alleys around a beautiful old church. There are some nice restaurants around there too.
Our junior suite was spacious with a balcony that caught the afternoon and evening sun. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom spacious and well designed. The lift, room safe, coffee making facilities, fridge, candles and gift of wine, water and fruit all made for a very easy stay. The WiFi was excellent and reliable. Breakfast was different each day, used local produce and was delicious including good coffee.

This stay was purely for transfer to the airport the next day, so just needed a bed for the night and a taxi to the airport the following day
However I have stayed in Kalamata many times before, and it is a wonderful city for a short break, with a great choice of lively cafes and eateries on the seafront.
The traffic is lighter along the seafront than in most Greek cities; Kalamata feels safe to walk around at night and in the daytime there are some interesting historic areas and museums to visit.

Kalamata is a fantastic place but it does take a while to become familiar with it. We've been on many occasions and we prefer to take the bus in (from Stoupa) because we find driving in Kalamata quite stressful. This is not because of the Greek drivers who are very courteous but more because we are not too familiar with the roads.
Our favourite place to visit is the market, which is on Saturdays and Wednesdays and it is fantastic. The quality, selection and price (and especially the price) are fantastic. The bus station is just across the road from the market so not far to walk.

Kalamata is a great small city in the Peloponnes, which caters for every interest. It has a some historical places, a beautiful old town with tradtional shops, an amazing coast with beaches, super clean water, very good and afordable restaurants and bars and a great ambiance. A city which you can explore easily by foot.
Further it can be used as a base for some of the most interesting places to visit in the Peloponnes like Mani, Mystras, Koroni, ancient Messene, the Apollon Temple and a lot more.

What an absolutely amazing growing metropolis!
What an absolutely amazing growing metropolis! Safe, secure, welcoming, fashion oriented, health conscious residents and simply a pleasure being around.
Simply attending a town square on any given night will be demonstration enough to illustrate the hospitable welcoming people of Kalamata with children of all ages playing with each-other, (no phones included, LOL), laughing, talking as kids should!
Everyone is not only healthy, but fit. It was astonishing that we struggled with my wife to find any unfit person in hundreds of people, especially the kids in town!
Bravo Kalamata... you are doing things right!

Kalamata is a functional and tidy harbor town.
Kalamata is a functional and tidy harbor town. It is conveniently close to Kalamata airport. Kalamata does not have a wow factor. Would only stay there when in transit and need a night in a hotel to catch an early morning flight the next day.

Kalamata is a great town and my favourite place to visit in...
Kalamata is a great town and my favourite place to visit in all of Greece but then I am prejudiced seeing I feel such a strong connection due to it being the capital of the province where my parents were born. There are many restaurants to visit by the seafront and in the centre of town, most being of very good quality.
If there is a Greek riviera, this must be it. A beautiful modern room in a historic but completely remodeled building with marble, marble, marble and exceptional artwork. Dine inside, just in front, or just across the single lane road/walkway under umbrellas and on the waterfront. Staff are friendly and accomodating. There are many restaurants to choose from lining the waterfront. Watch each morning as the local boats bring in the day's catch. Our room had two balconies! Convenient free parking just behind the hotel.
Perfect location, very close to the nice beach area. Dimitrios is a great host and was very flexible with our booking. The rooms are not very new, but you will have everything you need. great sea view! since we came in winter, it was great that we had proper heating and hot water in the shower immediately when you opened the tap. it´s not easy to find something like this in Greece. Overall we had a very nice stay.
Very comfortable, new apartment, located within a 5-10 minute walk to either the main plaza and the main beach. We were very well looked after by Petros, who was very responsive and always helpful. It was quiet and clean, the bed was comfortable, and we were able to get an earlier check in and later check out to suit our travel plans. Highly recommend this accommodation in Kalamata.
Maria and Giorgio were attentive and flexible and very kind. The apartment was perfect - so peaceful with the most stunning views over olive groves down to the bay and up to the mountains.
The best part was that we needed to be in Kalamata general hospital everyday and we could walk there through the olive groves in 20 minutes. That walk was the perfect way to de-stress.
The breakfast was quite nice. The staff was willing to cater to each guest's wishes and the back courtyard was quiet, shady and very pretty.
The location was ideal for me: three blocks from the beginning of the municipal beach and a longer walk up to the historic center and the city's museums and shops. My overall impression of Kalamata and the hotel were positive.
Very clean, spacious and well equipped room with good size bed. Hotel is comfortable and right on the beach. The rooms with the sea view are the best. The breakfast at the hotel is brilliant. Also the Hotel is a walking distance to the restaurants and you get there within 15-20 minutes walking by the sea. I recommend Horizon Blu Boutique Hotel resort with love!
Comfy boutique is a fantastic hotel in Kalamata - great location, both beach and city center within walkable distance. Everyone working at the hotel was super nice and helpful. They helped us arrange laundry, renting a car etc. The roof top pool was really nice as well. We are coming back for sure. Thanks!
We booked 1 night in this hotel as we had an early flight from Kalamata the next day. Location is good, within easy walking distance from the old town and loads of restaurants. Room was fine for 1 night. Kind staff and complentary goodies.
It’s a very warm & welcoming hotel. The staff are excellent as are the facilities. It’s situated in a great position, close enough to Kalamata if you want the city but far enough away if you are happy with local amenities.
Staff very kind, standard room with a lovely small terrace with direct sea view. Very good position for enjoy the city and the relax of the location. We can't wait to visit again Kalamata and Flisvos hotel.
A very nice hotel by the beach of Kalamata! Super polite, friendly and efficient staff! Very nice rooftop restaurant with superb views. Very clean and comfy room and very good breakfast! Thank you!
We came with one person more who joined us in Greece as a surprise. The hotel was very flexible and quick to arrange for an additional bed. Thanks again. Good place and excellent breakfast, too.
Fantastic view.
Big comfortable private house.
Relatively close to Kalamata or nearby beaches. Could also spend the day in, cook in the kitchen and just enjoy the view.
