Not enough space in negative review section, hence the negatives start here:
My wife and I had booked the room via Booking.com in order to attend the concert of the Scottish Fiddle Orchestra in Forfar on the evening of 1 June . We would normally not spend this high ammount of money (£115) on a relatively local one night stay in Scotland but we were attracted by the photos of the double rooms at the Royal Hotel that were shown on Booking.com website and by Booking.com website promising a "fabulous breakfast" to be provided by the Hotel.
On arrival at the Hotel, we initially were not able to check in for at least 10 minutes as the reception and bar area was filled by a large crowd of inebreated and very loud football fans. After receving the room keys we had to pave our way through this crowd to get to our room.

We ended up staying a second night as it was a great spot. It’s a lovely old pub and well worth staying. Very good value.
The Fort Hotel is set in the heart of Broughty Ferry, 5 minutes’ walk from the seafront and the railway station. This family-run hotel has a restaurant, an award-winning whisky bar and popular pub.

Location and easy access. Our rooms were across the road so we were not disturbed by the noise or any other issues. Comfortable . Lovely beer garden and nice breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful . Highly recommend the area as lots to see . Perfect for our night away to attend a wedding party . We got a taxi company number and they were brilliant too . Thanks 🤩

Forfar is a great little market town, filled with plenty of character. Lots of cafes and restaurants, as well as coffee houses. The usual spread of big supermarkets and plenty of smaller shops. Forfar is handy for Arbroath, Brechin & Montrose. Aberdeen is a 45 min drive north on the dual carriageway. Well served with good rail and bus links, north and south.

I love Forfar. The folk are so friendly.
I love Forfar. The folk are so friendly. Like most places, there’s been a lot of development in the area and a lot of new faces but everything is still within walking distance, supposing you’re fit for it.
I love the West End bar where the staff and clientele make you and your four legged escort welcome.
Alas, Frank’s is not what it once was.
Lots of the multinationals in town now but the independent retailers are just holding their own. Shop local!

Lovely friendly staff made me welcome.Accommodation lovely & clean highly recommended to future guests.Great night’s sleep even though it had a night club I never heard a thing.Beautiful big terrace excellent place to stay
Bruce was the most wonderful host. He was incredibly friendly and welcoming and gave great recommendations of places to visit while in the area. Bruce's home is immaculate and he provides a fantastic breakfast with a selection of cereals, toast, jams and a cooked breakfast option. The wifi is noted in the room and there is an iron and ironing board provided as well. We were made to feel so welcome and will definitely return next time we're in the area.
Airlie Hut was immaculately clean and thoughtfully put together. The surroundings are pretty and, most importantly for me, quiet. Staff were very kind and considerate. Location was easy to find and close enough to take a quick drive to the supermarket in Forfar to pick up shampoo and shower gel that I'd forgotten to pack!
Facilities and Interior is very good and it's like 4 star hotel.
Compact two bed room hall kitchen lodge with all facilities.
Plenty of household utensils for those who want to prepare the food.
Peaceful home for those who want complete rest.
'The mill' Restaurant is near by for breakfast and Lunch.
The property is in a great location. The owners were very helpful and friendly, breakfast was delicious. The use of the pool and spa area was such a great way to relax and enjoy some time together. We would definitely recommend and we will hopefully find another excuse to return.
Someone’s pride and joy and that is obvious. Spotlessly kept. Nicely furnished. Ample storage space available for clothes. Caravan well equipped with cleaning products, cooking utensils and white goods.
Proximity to Forfar perfect for those who don’t want to be in town.
Great location to visit family & friends over New Year's Eve. Lovely accommodation & dog friendly, stays warms and decent shower.
WiFi free to use and living area a great place to relax. When arrived, greeted by a welcoming gentleman who showed us around.
Lovely peaceful location on working farm. Lots of wildlife, lovely cottage. Great hosts. The host left lots of little extras such as milk, tea, coffee, even a bottle of wine and made us feel very welcome. It was a pretty area, lots to do and see.
Had all the facilities and more than we needed, spacious & perfect for us as a family
The owners were friendly with great communication throughout booking and great local knowledge of the area. Making us feeling really welcome
I liked the condition of the property, and the location. Plenty of hot water! All things I needed were provided. Big supermarkets and petrol in Forfar is just a short distance away, so no pressure to plan meals.
Not far off the main road, 5 minute drive from forfar. Peaceful cosy wee cottage. Hosts did a fab job. Definitely will be booking to come back this year! Hot tub an welcome basket was the perfect wee touches
