You get what you pay for. Definitely the place we will stay each time we pass through, it’s not perfect but it’s better than other places. Nice staff. Nice room, I wish the cleanliness was a little better but aside from that a convenient place to stay.

I liked the fact that everything I needed was on either of the main streets (both the shops street and the by-pass road). People are pleasant and helpful, and Ashburton doesn't feel too big or touristy. A great place to stay if you want to use as a base to explore other activities in the area.

We stopped here to see the Aviation Heritage Museum.
We stopped here to see the Aviation Heritage Museum. It was a great place to stop and rest prior to travelling into Christchurch. We found it a very friendly, slower paced area that allowed us to rest before the city exposure.

The ability to use a service road to get around the city centre - didn't have to use the busy State Highway 1. A lot of places were shut for New Years but we found a decent Indian restaurant and really enjoyed that . Great weather . Downside was the attitude and behaviour of the staff at the motel .
