Isla Bank House, hotel in Keith

A good location for a stress-free holiday in Keith, Isla Bank House is a bed and breakfast surrounded by views of the garden.

This was one of the best places that I've ever stayed at. Vena and Nick really made sure that your stay was comfortable. Breakfast and Dinner is made to order and is incredible. Hopefully if they visit us in Los Angeles, we would love to pass on the same experience

Tullich House, hotel in Keith

Featuring garden views, Tullich House in Keith features accommodations and a garden.

The grounds were very pretty. It was a wee bit out of town but didn’t take us long to get to the restaurant for dinner. The 2 first floor rooms are lovely. The room upstairs had a shared bathroom that was a couple of steps down. George and Janice were lovely host! The fire was going, a bit of whiskey and brownies on our arrival. The breakfast was hearty and home cooked a great addition after traveling for 2 weeks. I highly recommend.

Victoria Hotel, hotel in Keith

Featuring a bar, Victoria Hotel is located in Portknockie in the Grampian region, 21 miles from Elgin Cathedral and 24 miles from Huntly Castle.

On my next strip to Scotland I would spend the majority of my time at The Victoria. Lorraine & David Boa go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. The dinner was perfect and the breakfast was just what I needed. The pub in the back of the inn was just what I would looking for. The local residents gather there and are so friendly. Originally I was going to stay for one night but ended up staying for three and hated to have to leave.

The town is very historic but seems to lack the vision other towns in Scotland seemed to have found. The main street could be more ornate to capture attention of people passing through (as well as encourage better usage or street front property) and the commercial street behind the Main Street is not easily found or accessed…. Might be best to make a parking lot at the park on south end and make the commercial street a walking venue with ornate and historic flavor to attract both local people and travelers….

A good array of local and National grocery shops either side of the river, including a large Tesco. The Indian takeaway is also a big plus! The local shops and bakeries were all great. Great mainline train service down from Inverness or up from Aberdeen, plus the quaint heritage line from Keith Town station to Dufftown. Keith is well placed to explore the NE coastal towns and villages, across to Aviemore or Glenfarclas distillery (shameless plug for them), or indeed into Aberdeenshire.

I was staying there to go to the Dufftown Highland Games.

I was staying there to go to the Dufftown Highland Games. I'd heard that it was a very friendly occasion where most people there were locals. That's just how it was. I had a really splendid day, never having been to such an event before, it was better than I could have imagined.
