This was truly an individual home, and exceptionally great value. It was large, comfortable, extraordinarily, clean, and peaceful, very zen. Well, equipped with everything . And the owner is really sweet. Just be aware payment is in cash. I wish I was able to stay longer.

A great rural stay. Perfect for exploring the surrounding areas; Kumano Hongo Taisha, Nachi etc. Back to basics; solar power for basic electricity, wood-fired boiler for hot water, composting toilet and no TV, all you need. Quiet, relaxed place with a great, relaxed host, Aki. House was cool when we stay in early May. The (long term) renovation project is ongoing outside which could do with a bit of a tidy. But we'd definitely stay again with two young children. Great old style kitchen which could do with a bit of clean and dust - we rinsed things before using but fine.

The staff was friendly and helpful, they made sure, that we were aware that the food options in village were limited, so we could make an informed decision about ordering dinner from them.

The location is perfect if you want to hike the 1-day loop of the Kumano Kodo and also drive down to the Kumano Nachi Taisha. They have some snacks and instant noodles in the kitchen in case you miss out on the few restaurants in the village. Also, the host was very helpful and gave us pointers on which places were open on which day so we did not need to go hungry to bed.AmineGroup

It felt like being invited in a local family. The owner (who is very friendly) has a restaurant close to the guest house, we highly recommend you try it too, as the food is delicious!

They had 3 private onsen (2 inside/1 outside) and it was a great to relax after some intense hiking. We loved it! We booked 2 capsules/cubicles for a resonnable price.
