Barrytown itself is small but there is a good tavern, All Nations, where you can get a meal, drinks, and friendly local company. It's worth booking a tour with Golden Sands Horse and Wagon Tours for some history of the area and an old-time experience. I loved being by the coast.
I loved being by the coast. The venue was quiet (no traffic noise) and there was a very welcome hot tub right by my van. Big double bed very comfortable. Also very handy to Punikaiki Pancake Rocks - a great tourist attraction.PatNew Zealand

Loved the burgers and chips first night - best 'the works' burger I've ever eaten. Also loved pizza and steak the second night, accompanied by a cheesecake that was simply superb. Loved the view towards the sea from our room, the warm hospitality of the hosts, the great atmosphere of the bar - already recommending All Nations to our friends and would definitely stay there again.
