Our only disappointment was that we'd only booked one night.
We felt like we were on the water. Very warm and comfortable. The onsite restaurant meal was superb. Thanks team. We'll be back.

This was a quirky place, full of history from the old mining days.
Bathroom and toilets were in the hall but everything was spotlessly clean.
Rooms are very simple and there is a big basket with hot water bottles in case you get cold.
We very much enjoyed our food: it was delicious, affordable and they serve a good portion size.
The pub was downstairs so you will hear some music when you are in bed but it was not too loud or annoying for us at all.
Comfortable beds and a good basic breakfast included & friendly staff, the only thing we regret is that we didn't have more time to absorb everything we saw in the pub: from old signs with West Coast sayings, newspaper articles, old mining memorabilia and so much more.
We LOVED the whole atmosphere: if you expect the luxury of a 5-star-hotel then it is probably not for you but if you are keen to go to a place that is unique, different and something to remember for a long time we would highly recommend it.

Our host kindly made us sandwiches at no charge, as we had been delayed through a road closure and diverted by over 100 miles. It was much appreciated.

Great if you want to get away from busyness. Close to beach to look for greenstone. View of ocean from room was very relaxing. Cooking facilities were sufficient for us to cook dinner with supplies we bought in Greymouth

Barrytown itself is small but there is a good tavern, All Nations, where you can get a meal, drinks, and friendly local company. It's worth booking a tour with Golden Sands Horse and Wagon Tours for some history of the area and an old-time experience. An easy drive north from Barrytown to Punakaike and Trueman Track or South to Greymouth.

I loved being by the coast.
I loved being by the coast. The venue was quiet (no traffic noise) and there was a very welcome hot tub right by my van. Big double bed very comfortable. Also very handy to Punikaiki Pancake Rocks - a great tourist attraction.
Stayed 2 nights at All Nations Barrytown whilst taking part in a knife-making course down the road. Loved the burgers and chips first night - best 'the works' burger I've ever eaten. Also loved pizza and steak the second night, accompanied by a cheesecake that was simply superb. Loved the view towards the sea from our room, the warm hospitality of the hosts, the great atmosphere of the bar - already recommending All Nations to our friends and would definitely stay there again.
This was a delightful private quirky cottage in a peaceful setting.
Was great to see the history of the place in pictures on the walls.
Locals very friendly at the pub over the road - 5 min walk. Plus good burgers from there.
Really handy to the sea just a five minute walk also only a couple of km from Barrytown. Weka calling in the evening so was close to nature. Host were great, shower was fantastic great wee setup.
