The staff was a 10/10!! They were amazing. They really gave us that family feeling and accommodated everything around our 2 boys. While dinner was at 7, they arranged food for them at 5. The pool is beautiful and the garden is very big, kids loved running around. There is a playground and we saw monkeys early morning.

- very friendly staff
- comfortable and large room with all amenities it requires
- two nice pools, a larger and a smaller one
- authentic breakfast, we especially liked the Uganda Rolex dish :)
- close proximity to Addo Elephant Park main entrance
- Management pro-actively mentioning the proximity of a gravel road close by where there's potential louder truck traffic (but was not a problem at all)
- also, as there is no dinner available, the Elephant House already reserved us a table in a restaurant near by - excellent service!
- large grocery shopping facility within 5min drive

The gardens and settting are beautiful. It's very peaceful and our room was lovely. The beds were very comfortable and we had everything we needed for self-catering. The staff and hosts were very friendly and helpful. The accommodation is about 14kn from the main gate of Addo Elephant Park, so it is situated perfectly for the purpose of our visit. We'll definitely be back!!

The park was fantastic with plenty of interaction with elephants.
We ate at the Africanos and Tangelo restaurants. Both were absolutely superb.
I was in an SUV but the roads in and around the park are perfectly good enough for even the lowest of vehicles.
The local supermarket is great for those in self-catering accommodation.

I have visited Addo on many occasions (my third in the last six months) and it is never the same. vegetation changes by season, certain species are more visible than others and of course the elephant will always be there to see but not always in large herds.
Birding is always good but more so in the hot months.
The park is of such a size that you can always plan to get back to the picnic site, Jack's in time for lunch or tea. There are excellent ablution facilities, shaded picnic sites but no shop or restaurant which can be found at Addo main camp.

We can’t get enough of the Elephant Park and we’re loving the Safari’s at Schotia. Zip lining at Adrenaline is also one of our favourites. We are living 4 hours away from Addo, so most of the time we are coming for the weekend ( Two nights) . It’s always too short…
The area "Addo" is not really nice, but there are nice places to stay.

Addo Elephant National Park was nice.
Addo Elephant National Park was nice. We saw tons of elephants, zebras, and other resident animals native to this area in the park. Probably best to spend one night in accommodations in or near the national park and then the other night in one of the game reserves near the park.
The view from the mountains is amazing. There is a nice pool and relaxing area. We had a dinner also with this view. The rooms are pretty, all made us to feel good!! We had a small Kia Picanto rental car, very small one. Luckily it was not rainy season, so it was no problem to go up with this car, we had to drive slow and carefully and all was fine!!! The hotel is not far from Addo National Park, so before heading there we made a 2 hour driving from the northern entrance of the park and we saw many elephants and other animals.
When I looked where to stay at Addo I wanted a place that maximized the wildlife without me having to drive anywhere and Gorah did exactly that. We sat at the hotel all day and we experienced the most amazing wildlife at the waterhole. And at the same time Gorah staff exemplary in their service and kindness. The food superb right down to my wife’s diabetic requirements at all times and we were made to feel that nothing was too much.
Our cabin by the river was clean, comfortable and gave us an authentic African getaway experience that we didn't experience with any other accommodation on our holiday. Beautiful location close by to the Addo Elephant Park. Lovely grounds and facilities. Breakfast was varied and delicious. Wayne and Riann were great hosts that went out of their way to make us feel welcome and satisfy our requests.
Lisa was warm and welcoming when we arrived. We stayed in a beautiful chalet overlooking the river. The view was amazing, especially during sunset. The chalet had been recently renovated and everything felt new and clean! Tastefully decorated and had everything that we needed. Great location close to Addo Elephant Park. Would definitely stay again!
Peace and quiet, exactly what was needed to unwind and forget about work and everyday life. The location is amazing, clean and everything and more is available for a great self catering getaway. We really enjoyed our stay and could not have asked for anything better. Nicky, the host is amazing and very accommodating. Will be back for sure !!!
The Room was standalone and private and perfectly sized with good catering facilities. The service was outstanding with amazing breakfasts. We didn't eat dinner or lunch due to the great facilities for self catering within the unit but the menu looked great. Fast access to Addo I couldn't recommend enough.
The location was perfect for our visit to Addo Elephant Park.
The accommodation was wonderful.
I was really impressed with the outside shower, the size of the bathroom and inside shower.
The beds were comfortable and the linen was superb.
The chalets were very well thought out and the design was great.
Verry friendly staff. Perfect swimming pool and everything well maintained. Diner and breakfast was absolutely amazing. They even made a breakfast package for our early selfdrive in addo elephant park. Advising beforehand a safe travel road to the accommodation was an example of good customer service.
AWESOME hotel on a beautifull and well maintained terrain.
If you come across this hotel I would absolutely reccomend!
Super friendly and helpfull staff, nice breakfast, excellent diner, good location (close to Addo elephant park, Schotia private game,..).
10/10
Very comfortable, spacious, modern, clean and well equipped cottages.
Beautiful gardens with antelopes roaming freely.
Great location on the Addo main road and within close proximity to Addo National Park.
Very good restaurant and bar at the property.
Perfect location to visit the Addo elephant park
Lovely houses with deck and garden, very clean
Opening the curtains and seeing springboks on your deck and in the garden was amazing
Wonderful small pool
Beautiful lounges with open fire places
The rustic nature of the property made it very appealing and was also very comfortable. Also the availability to use the Hotel's Transport and Driver to tour Addo Elephant Park which is nearby.
Nice and clean appartement with nice views over the valley. 25 minute drive from Addo park. We did 1 organized safari (a morning and evening) each day, but each took around 7 hours.
A beautiful and quite old fashioned hotel, but I mean that as a compliment. Lovely staff who cannot do enough for you. We went on the elephant safari at Addo and adored it.
