Breakfast was fantastic, in fact all the food and drink was superb throughout my x3 day stay. The room (no 1) was very comfortable with a very individual, quirky design. The staff were also very helpful and friendly - thanks again!

Hilltop country house is wonderful. Clare is a wonderful host. The breakfast is magnificent room was beautiful with some wonderful touches. And to be greeted with flowers and prosecco for valentines was amazing!

A really comfortable place to stay with everything you need. Great location for exploring the Peak District with some nice nearby towns for an evening meal. Hosts are really pleasant and there if you need them!

I like Macclesfield because it is a pretty town with good links to Manchester if you need the big city, the Peak District if you like walking, and Buxton if you want a bit of culture. I came for the silk museum and the Paradise Mill which I can recommend both. The Treacle Market on the last Sunday of the month was a good experience. The weather was sunny, but often was a chill strong wind, I missed a hat. It takes only 30 minutes to travel by train to Manchester, and about 2 hours to London. There are good restaurants and pubs! There are many places to take a nice walk in the nature of the surrounding area, but unfortunately I had to postpone them.AlineSwitzerland - 8.0Scored 8.0

A nice small town centre, a good choice of eateries & cafes, A couple of good ladies boutiques along with a lovely shop Rocco selling stylish boots & trainers. The Tytherington hotel is well worth a stay as they have a good Spa & pool. Another small hotel nearby is BoHotel & eatery, lovely. Free car parking available for the town centre too.

I went to Macclesfield for business , not leisure. It is a small town where shops and restaurants generally close quite early. I wasn't a tourist oin this trip but visiting friends in an area I used to live in. I ate at The Chilli Banana, a large Thai restaurant and had an enjoyable meal. Also used the Coffee Shop at Arighi Bianci both for coffee stop over and lunch and it's a good location - not only do you get to see the cream of household furnishings spread over mutliple floors, but this excellent cafe.AnnetteUnited Kingdom

The views from the back of property is lovely. The cottage was immaculately clean and smelt amazing. Bed was really comfortable and pillows were perfect for me. My favourite thing was the log burner. Just a lovely chilled weekend. We went to a concert in Manchester the first night and it was very expensive to stay in Manchester, so we stayed in Macclesfield and I'm glad we did. Really appreciated the little touches like the different teas and a few bathroom products. Would definitely stay again and/or recommend to others. The other thing was that were a couple of really very, very minor hiccups which I mention purely because of the speed (and cheerfulness) with which Nadine fixed them - and that is what really matters! So there was no impact on my stay.
