Located in Pongwe, a few steps from Pongwe Beach, Karibu Beach Resort provides accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. The breakfast was good, several choices on the menu. I wish I could have kept out of the bread bowl😋. All the meals we had there were very good and reasonably priced. The hotel and especially the staff were exceptional! They positively cater to your needs. We used the front desk for day trips and everything went very smoothly. I can’t recommend this hotel enough, our stay was fantastic!

The One Resort Zanzibar has a restaurant, fitness centre, a bar and garden in Makunduchi. This 4-star hotel offers a private beach area, a concierge service and free WiFi. My partner and I stayed at The One Resort for 11 nights in February 2022. This was our first visit to Zanzibar and having stayed at this hotel, it certainly won’t be our last. From the moment we walked into reception we were put at ease, with a welcome refreshing drink in hand a hot refreshing towel and a very warm welcome from the reception staff. Our check-in was speedy and very efficiently carried out even though we arrived a couple of hours early, our cases were dispatched to our awaiting room by three very helpful and friendly Maasai men. Our two-bedroom suite was beautiful, very spacious and very well laid out. The main bedroom had views across the very large swimming and onto the beach and ocean. All areas of the suite were airconditioned and the lounge area had a large flat screen tv, where one could relax on the sofa and catch up with the news or weather to say the least. The bathroom was large and had a huge bath with overhead rainfall shower. Our Balcony which was accessed via the main bedroom was overlooking the pool and the beautiful gardens around the resort. Whilst we were there, we experienced some lovely sunrises over the ocean from either our room or the balcony. The grounds around the pool are well laid out with gravel or sand paths leading to the large swimming pool. There are two pools one of which allows access to the pool bar, where one can enjoy a cocktail a beer and a snack. There are ample sun loungers around the pool all with parasols to help with shade when needed. The pool staff are extremely helpful and will go out of their way to make your time around the pool relaxing. Towels are provided and bought to you when you arrive poolside. With background music and the sun shinning what more could one want. The restaurant is buffet style for breakfast and evening meal but the lunchtime menu is a-la-carte. Only 6 rooms so it always feels very private and tranquil, no loud beach music, great place to just relax and rest by the ocean. The owner Erika is always nice and helpful and the whole staff is very lovely and attentive. The hotel has a restaurant / bar with a very nice menu and everything we tried was delicious. The breakfast is always great as well. Really well designed place, absolutely recommended!
