CitizenM San Francisco Union Square ligger perfekt til i Union Square-området i San Francisco, 200 meter fra selve Union Square, 700 meter fra Moscone Center og 1,2 km fra San Francisco rådhus. The hotel room was small but more than enough for two people and every setting was controlled using a tablet or the mobile app on your phone. Very minimalistic and very enjoyable. It was also really silent and the bed was amazingly comfortable. The staff was super nice and the breakfast was a buffet with several options, and a bonus hot drink you can choose (latte, cappuccino, espresso...) and they will prepare it for you. You can also choose cleaning days and for each day you skip cleaning service a donation is made to a charity! Really really enjoyed my stay at this hotel!

Dette boutiquehotellet ligger 5 minutters gange fra Old Mission Santa Ines og har restaurant, utendørsbasseng, boblebad og romslige rom med gratis WiFi. The hotel is simply beautiful. There is a restaurant attached but it was closing when we arrived. The hotel does not offer breakfast. The rooms were spacious (we had a 2 queen beds room), the bathroom was clean and the ammenities nice. The hotel lobby is very beautiful too. The hotel is very well located so we were able to walk around town. The hotel offers complimentary parking outside its premises. The staff recommended us a nice place to have breakfast and it was great (The Belgian Cafe).

A good place to use as a base when exploring the area
This is a place that has many things to explore. I only had two days so I saw the glass beach, a little of the town and I drove to the redwood where a car can drive though. Fort Bragg is a good base if you want to see the redwoods, taste wine, enjoy the rough nature by the pacific ocean etc. There is a lot of camping spots, b&b and motels there. The restaurants are of a very good quality and of some reason the gasoline stations had pretty low prices compared to the rest of California. Beside that the locals are very friendly and helpful.

Large city with plenty of things to do.
Large city with plenty of things to do. We made it to the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the Chinese theater (really nice early in the morning). The California Science Center (to see the Endeavour), Satan Monica Pier, Universal Studios, La Brea and Peterson Car Museum. All of them worth while. Book "Front of the line pass" at Universal Studios to avoid standing in long lines for the rides. Take the bus tour at first :-) The pass does not apply at the Harry Potter Wizard store so you will have to stand in a long line to buy a wand from Olivanders.

Berkeley er først of fremst University of California.
Berkeley er først of fremst University of California. Selve universitetetsområdet er praktfullt. Det er også verd å gå fottur i "Berkeley Hills", mange interessante hus og hager. Problemet i California er dessverre at svært mye er avhengig av tilgang på bil. I så måte er California den beste demonstrasjon av privatbilismens galskap. Men the Bay Area har BART (Bay Area Rapid Transportation), som er en undergrunnsbane, gjør det lett å komme seg til San Francisco og til begge flyplassene i området.

Fantastisk sted med California Mid State Fair i juli. Masse flotte konserter med verdensstjerner i særklasse og en flott messe laget i country og western stil.

Fantastisk by!
Fantastisk by! Mye å se og mye å finne på. Absolutt verdt et besøk. I løpet av 6 dager rakk vi å se China town, Golden gate bridge, Golden gate park, Twin peaks, Lombard street, Japanese teagarden, California acadamy of science, Fishermans warf, Pier 39, Hard rock café, Alcatraz, Sausalito, Coit tower og Union Square. Vi har brukt både sightseeing buss og offentlig transport.
