Leeuwarden is capital of the province of Friesland and it is a really nice city. In earlier times it was attached to the House of Orange. It has some very nice buildings, among them the former post office, Post Plaza, tweebaksmarkt 27, which is a very fine and large restaurant nowadays, annex hotel. At Druifstreek 57-59 you will find Restaurant ‘Het Leven’ where you can have an excellent diner at a reasonable price.

The thing that made our stay very special was a brilliant member of the team who was on night duty on our first night. He took the time to speak to us in detail about the history of the hotel and about Leeuwarden and Friesland, which was so interesting, and he really made our trip to Leeuwarden. The prison is an unusual location for a hostel, which is what intrigued us in the first place and the whole experience was very enjoyable.. If you are travelling in Friesland, this accommodation is a must. I would make a detour just to stay there.

I loved everything! We were upgraded to a studio room which was beautiful and very modern. The breakfast buffet had plenty of options. We could park our electric bikes at the back of the hotel, where a specific bike parking was. It was close to downtown Nes. When we checked out it was no issue to store our luggage for the rest of the day.

The hotel upgraded us to the "Cupido Suite" which had a steam room & jacuzzi, it was a fabulous surprise! We had a lovely lunch & dinner, we rented bicycles & got a couples massage. We really enjoyed cycling to the beach! The staff were very friendly and helpful! All the facilities were very clean!

This place is a Gem. Not really in the city center and behind outdoor activity places so you didn't expect much but the hotel was great. New and relatively modern and right on the beach. The room was fine, the breakfast had a super selection. And I I felt for the first time on our trip that the price was right. - I can also recommend the restaurant right across the way. - The food was really tasty.
