Location is perfect right in centre of Assen and while fairly plain furniture it was comfortable, clean, and plenty of room. Breakfast is excellent too!! Gets you off to a great start for the day of touring!!

Van der Valk Hotel Assen is a 4-star hotel, set just off the A28 highway to Groningen. It is located at the edge of the Baggelhuizerplas and at a distance of 2.5 km from Assen. Room was spacious, clean, well appointed, modern. (To my surprise I received an upgrade) Bathroom also spacious, clean, well appointed and modern. Both shower and jacuzzi. It is a large facility. The internal signage was good. Breakfast full selection Dinner wide selection and tasty. Not high cuisine, but more than standard Buffet lunch for workshop group was fresh, tasty and attractive I facilitated a workshop - the facilities were excellent and the staff friendly and efficient. Easy to deal with in advance and they met all our needs throughout the day.
