The hotel is very secluded which makes it an excellent option for people wanting to get out of the most tourist spots in Baja California Sur. The rooms are decorated in a very unique way, the bed is super comfortable and the balcony was a nice spot to hang out and even had a hammock! Don't forget to check with the concierge about the daily activities such as yoga and hiking. We also had dinner at Benno, the restaurant inside the hotel. The food was so fresh and tasteful: we had oysters and the fresh catch of the day (jurel) in a pistachio mole. All in all a very romantic getaway in a peaceful and relaxed environment.

A place to relax from the daily routine
If you are looking for a party place you are better off in Cabo San Lucas this is a place to relax and enjoy the ocean/sea and areas around the town. People overall are very friendly and I especially loved their driving style - they stop and let you pass not only as a pedestrian but also other drivers, which creates a very relaxed atmosphere overall (Note, this seams to be the driving style in all of Baja California Sur). You should rent a car and check out the lovely beaches close to La Paz and also take a trip to Todos Santos (around 1 hour drive) and Los Cabos are also close (2.5 hours drive). Also take tours to Isla Espirtu Santo and if you are there during the Whale-Shark season don't miss to take a tour and snorkle with them. It's a wonderful experience.

Although Loreto was one of our favorite places to stay while exploring Baja California Sur, that doesn't say too much as we really didn't like the Baja! Too "gringo" for our tastes, and we were happy to get back to mainland Mexico again. The place looks a little dumpy and doesn't really have any culture or other redeeming factor which would make one want to return. Luckily, living in central Mexico, we are always submerged in Mexican culture, so we just took the ferry back to the "real thing"! :-)

If you plan to visit Baja California Sur I would much rather recommend Cabo San Lucas. We stayed for 3 nights in La Paz and visited Cabo San Lucas for a day and Todos Santos for a few hours. It seemed to me, that all other cities had a much more pleasant vibe. Cabo has a great atmosphere, lots of shops, restaurants, tourist activities, etc..., whereas La Paz seems more like an industrial city with a surge of tourism in the last few years where it is noticable that tourism is still developing. We decided to stay in La Paz because the air ticket was cheaper from Tijuana, but my recommendation is to stay in Cabo San Lucas and don't bother coming to La Paz, even if the airplane ticket is $100 more expensive.

La Paz is a small city located in the Gulf of California, with great food, lots of local and friendly businesses, affordable prices and outstanding beaches nearby such as El Saltito and Balandra, the most popular in the area. If you're planning to travel across Baja California Sur, La Paz is a great place to stay as it's, somehow, in the middle of the whole state so you can either travel up north to San Javier and Loreto, or south to Todos Santos, Los Cabos and Cabo Pulmo. You must try the food at a organic café named "Nomada" which serves dishes with sustainable yellow tail (jurel-fish) and taste some ice creams from La Fuente on Malecón, close to the Burger King.

This small hotel has a lot! The surroundings inside and out are impeccable. The breakfasts are delicious and plentiful. The customer service throughout the hotel was exceptional. LOVED the heated pool and enjoyed some nearby walkable restaurants as well as in the city. We would highly recommend Los Patios to anyone who was looking for great value.

Located on a beautiful quiet beach ( Very unsafe to swim on it ! ) but it has a lovely pool with a swim up bar and a outdoor hot tub ! - Nice and quiet as is "Not in town by the marina" ( it can get very noisy until the early hours of the morning by the marina ) But only a 20 minuet walk to the marina if you want shops , bars , nightlife and restaurants ( the staff at reception will get you a cab to anywhere you need to go within minuets and are very friendly and helpful) - de-luxe apartment ( sleeps 4 ,but decor dated ) very good value for money ! would definitely stay again , and probably will !!!

This place was exactly what we expected! If you want a large, fancy, 5 star resort then go someplace else. If you want a quaint, quiet, clean, smaller resort, then go here! That’s exactly what my husband and I wanted and that’s what we got. The grounds were kept up nice and all the staff were very friendly. I would recommend spending the extra money to upgrade to an ocean view room, totally worth it! Also, this place is within a 1-2 mile walking distance to the arts district and a grocery store.

Situated on a beach in La Paz Baja Sud Mexico the location was stunning. We could swim in the ocean or opt for the large and very clean pool. The restaurant was right near the water or we could have food and drinks on the beach. The bed was very comfortable. All rooms had a seaside view. The hotel is slightly older than some but very good value for money. Also the late checkout of 12pm was really appreciated.
