The Nara Visitor Center and Inn is situated in the heart of Nara, just a 3-minute walk from Kofuku-ji Temple and Naramachi. Relaxed atmosphere and helpful staff Perfect location! There’s a space outside for children to exert some energy. We were fortunate enough to get a beautiful view of the pagoda. But even if we weren’t on that side of the building there is still a decent view on the other side. There are kitchens free to use. The sento is very nice and has a little view.

Ichimaru Ryokan - Vacation STAY 35990v is located in Tenkawa, in the Dorogawa Onsen district. At the hotel, every room is equipped with a desk and a TV. I had expected the place to be a hotel and only realised after arriving that it was a traditional Japanese inn. The hosts were fantastic. Communication was with translation by iPhone but everything was clear. The inn is traditional so be prepared for the futon bed and the shared bathroom and washing facilities. But it's also small so we did not need to queue or wait. We were also provided with traditional dress which we wore to the craft beer bar close by. The hosts were wonderful. Everything from arranging a taxi to advice on what we needed for the hot spring bath in the village. The breakfast and dinner (it's an inn so both are included even though breakfast is mentioned only) were amazing. It was at a level I would expect in an expensive restaurant here but felt like you were in a home and not a hotel. The area is great for hiking and the village is just super nice. Great ice-cream place nearby also. All in all it was the best weekend break I have ever had and I have loads of memories - my advice is to go there and just immerse yourself without expectations. Again the hosts were amazing

The history of the house, the building, the room, wonderful staff, hospitality and warm welcome and magnificent garden. The breakfast was delicious. The staff recommended very good places for dinner. We absolutely loved the stay.

The SPA area was amazing and breakfast was really good. The hotel is a little bit far from the main tourist area, however is close to the train station so it is still very accessible.

The hotel is literally a few feet from the Nara station exit and it was easy to find the sign to go to the 3rd floor lobby of the hotel. There is also a big supermarket right next to the hotel and across from the Nara station, and the Tourist Information Center is right next to the supermarket. The Nara Park, Todaiji Temple and the other attractions are within walking distance from the hotel and through a lively shopping street. The bus stops are also right in front of the station. The room was clean, comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. The amenities provided in the room, including a hot water kettle, fridge, and a yukata for using the public bath (if one is interested) were very good. One of the nice things I noticed in the hotel was the self-storage lockers for storing luggage near the reception desk either before or after check-in. The reception staff was also able to provide me with a tourist map. The hotel lobby also had free coffee in the morning, which was nice. If I were to visit Nara again, I would definitely stay in this hotel.

I was surprised how close everything was to the hotel, especially for the price. A very short walk and central to everything. The staff were all very friendly and nice and the rooms were spacious with a very large bathtub/shower room. If you drive, they have free parking.

A nice authentic experience of staying in a Ryokan-style room. Both the private and public baths were lovely. The food was great and the waitress did a great job explaining for each course what we were having and how to eat it properly. The location was also great with the major sights and the deer in walking distance.

This was by far our favorite hotel we stayed at during our trip in Japan. The place is located next to a kofun which makes the area so peaceful and quiet. At night you could hear the crickets and cicadas while being in your private hot tub in your private little garden. The room was very, very spacious, beautifully decorated. I wish we had planned more days in Nara, so we could spend more time in this little oasis.

Overall we had a wonderful stay. The hotel is right next to the station which is very convenient, the staff was super friendly and everything was perfectly clean. They even assigned a larger room to us, which made our stay even more comfortable. We didn't use the onsen, but in theory we could've used it for free. After checkout, the hotel staff offered to store our luggage free of charge, which was very convenient in order for us to explore the nearby deer park before heading to the next city.

Breakfast was including in our meal the food was amazing, had most things and so fresh! We loved all the facilities onsens, indoor pools and communal facilities. Would recommend it to anyone with children/families wanting to stay somewhere with pools and onsens. The staff at the facility were great and hopeful when ever we had any enquires.
