Situated in the centre of Kyoto, 300 metres from TKP Garden City Kyoto, ALA HOTEL KYOTO features air-conditioned rooms and free WiFi. This 4-star hotel offers a 24-hour front desk. I loved the room. It was spacious and very clean (big enough to accomodate two big open suitcases). The lobby staff all spoke English. The baths were also spacious and clean. Every floor has a vending machine which is also awesome. When it was time to leave the staff took care of measuring our luggage and filling out the form to send our luggage to our next hotel. When I lost my credit card and it was found by the police, the staff called my room and let me know then they printed out a map and gave me clear instructions on where to go to get it back. All in all, my stay here was very plesant and me and my spouse intend to stay with them again in the future.

This was the best hotel we have stayed in, the staff were amazing. We would highly recommend the Hotel in every category you can come up with. The room was comfortable and spacious, the view was spectacular and the location was perfect. A walk away from the underground, which was easy to navigate, restraints, cafes and fresh fruit and vegies. It is a 15 minute walk to the Nishiki markets which I. Itself was an amazing place.

My room was large with a very big shower and tub area and full size soaking tub. Everything was updated and the mattress was very comfortable. The room had everything I needed, including a small fridge and a handy in-room safety box. Breakfast was included with my room and I could choose between the excellent Japanese breakfast in the Japanese restaurant overlooking a garden, or opt for the Western-style buffet which featured made to order eggs and omelets and a wide array of delicious options. I liked the location near the Gosho Imperial Palace and the Marutamachi subway station. When I was feeling lazy I took the free shuttle to Oike/Karasuma, where I could catch two different subways (east-west and north-south). The open atrium in the center featured a coffee shop/bar and was a pleasant place to chat with friends. I used to live in Kyoto and this is one of my favorite parts of town, very convenient yet quiet. I can speak Japanese, but was glad that the front desk staff included some very good English speakers. I found the staff at this hotel very friendly and professional throughout the property. After staying for one week, I found it very hard to leave. I will definitely be back.

The room was all that I needed. It wasn’t large, but the bed and the bathroom were nice. It was easy to get to the Gion neighborhood on one bus and easy to walk to the subway. There were a couple of coffee shops on the block that were great for breakfast. They also did a good job handling my luggage.

Wow. This hotel completely exceeded my expectations. The rooms were huge, bright and very well stocked. The washer/dryer in the room was a godsend for us as a family with a baby and the bathroom was luxurious with a freestanding bathtub. The staff are very welcoming and downstairs there is a cafe and salad bar all with fresh colourful ingredients. This hotel was 1/3 the price of the more popular family suites chain in Japan but it was every bit as good if not better

The hotel's location is very strategic. It is near the main train station. There are so many restaurant and shops nearby.
