The location is perfect for someone who has work in Chandrashekarpur or Patia. Actually there's a fantastic road that connects the airport with the hotel. The check-in was smooth and hassle free. In fact the concierge spotted me taking stuff out of my car in the parking lot and rushed to help me. The staff are all uniformly polite and helpful. The room was perfect in every way. Spotless, well appointed, comfortable and had a beautiful view of the extensive garden. The bathroom was again hygienic and clean. The drain on the shower area could drain a little faster though! The mattress and pillows were perfect! There was an extensive spread for the complimentary buffet breakfast. Juices, breads, fruits, cold cuts, parathas, idlis, upma / poha, they were all there. One advise. Anything that is ordered like omelettes or dosa take forever. Stick to what's already on display! The garden has a kilometer long jogging / walking track. Absolutely amazing for morning walks! I had a perfect stay. Waiting to visit Trident Bhubaneswar again!

we were a group of six friends and stayed a few days in...
we were a group of six friends and stayed a few days in bhubaneshwar. in general, the city appears more degraded than other big cities, but less crowded. this characteristic made it more approachable to us. we stayed in mango hotel, south of the city. the area of orissa has many beautiful temples. the langaraj is absolutely amazing, although non-hindus are not allowed t enter. you can have a look inside from a small platform. if you walk barefoot or open sandals, you might want to watch out for small black and yellow worms. they grow in large populations especially on temple areas. food is generally good, but gather as much information as you can on a specific restaurant beforehand. in bhubaneshwar we had one of our worst collective diahorrea attacks of our trip. by all means, do visit the tourist information center! the employees are extremely kind and provide very useful tips and advices!

Better hotels and facilities than in Puri, Konark or Chilka. Transport to all places is available. Decent food suiting all budgets is available. Uber and scooters make local travel easy. Day-hire cab services are plentiful. We are an oldish - couple and I suddenly decided to take my wife to the temples of Orissa... visited Bhubaneswar, Konark, Puri and the bird sanctuary at Chilka lake...one of our best trips...very comfortable and enjoyable. Tips: carry cloth bags for money etc. as most temples in Orissa do not allow leather objects; carry lots and lots of coins and low-denomination paper currency (Rs. 5, 10, 20) to offer at temples; carry sunscreen as the sun can be punishing; carry moisturizer as the salty air can leave your skin very dry and you very uncomfortable; do try chhena podhi - the Indian cheese cake baked using coal.

This is a serious Indian City and it is on the up. There is building and development all over the place and of course it is big. We did some good shopping especially for textiles and Ikat weave. There are good restaurants around and The Mayfair Hotel is always there for a slightly mad lunch treat. There are a lot of things going on and unfortunately we missed the tribal festival by a day. I would suggest leaving some space in you suitcase for some souvenirs and your stomach for Orissa specialities. We went to Hare Krishna in Station Square and had lovely dinner in rather beautiful surroundings. If we had stayed longer there are many places on Trip A and in Lonely Planet. You can get to Pipli easily for applique handicrafts. Konark is about an hour by car for the not to be missed Sun Temple and near bye Lotus Hotel with its endless beach and good restaurant I am sure there is a lot in Bubeneswar we didn't see.

Very interesting place - places to be visited - several ancient temples, a park and a cave complex. Pepole are extremely friendly and nice. Plan well your stay here and in Orissa in general. I have underestimated the location and I need to come back.
