We absolutely loved our experience here and after doing a lot of research believe it may be the nicest property on the entire lake. Facilities were beautiful with stunning views from the rooms and infinity pool. Staff were world-class, always smiling, energetic, friendly, and ready to say yes. They truly went above and beyond. Bartender Cristian is the best! Our upgraded room was spectacular and newly remodeled with a beautiful tub overlooking the lake. Breakfast, dinner, and drinks at the pool bar were all excellent. The hotel also arranged for a great couples massage, laundry service, and a private boat tour of the lake. Thanks so much and we will be back!!

Set on the shores of Lake Atitlan, Balam Ya offers a private dock area, free kayaks, and a complimentary light breakfast. Each villa has a balcony with views of the lake. Absolutely everything. The villa was beautiful, the beds were comfy, the view was spectacular. The staff went out of their way to be so kind and helpful. I cannot thank them enough. Their service is stellar. Nothing is too much trouble. If I could give them a higher rating than 10 I would.

From the staff, to the grounds, to the food and the service, this hotel was the most wonderful place. My fiancée asked me to marry him there and there genuinely would not have been a more special surrounding. Astrid was also amazing as were all the staff we interacted with. Atitlan Villas feature rustic-style architecture, a swimming pool and hot tub overlooking the Atitlan lake. Built into the mountainside, it provides panoramic lake views. Mario and his staff were outstanding. They were attentive, caring and trust worthy. They made us feel as if we were guests in their private home. The secluded location and view of the lake/volcanos were spectacular and the large fluffy pool towels for cool evening dips into the jacuzzi were a bonus.
