La Tica y la Gata is an amazing place to be at when visiting Puerto Viejo. True, that it is a bit away further from the beach and it is preferable to have a vehicle (bike, toktok, car) to get in and out (around 2 minutes by bike and 10 minutes walking; but the staff (the owner, her daughter and all empolyees) are very freindly and helpful. The two rooms apartments are gorgeous and the pool and walking isle between rooms is beautiful. The wifi is superfast and the rooms are spotless and cleaned daily. I do recommend this place to anyone visiting PV.

The cabin was beautifull, great design and details, super clean. View from the cabin (mountain house) was absolutely mindblowing. Very polite, helpful and tactful staff. Don't expect SPA experience you got used to in Europe/ US, it's just massage, but it's just how it is here in Costa Rica. You might experience some problems with hot water or electricity, but remember it's self reliable ecofriendly place, only with solar panels and naturally-sourced water.

Situated in Puerto Viejo, less than 1 km from Negra Beach, Umami Hotel - Adults Only features accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a terrace. my favorite part of the property is that is Adults only. it’s also small and it feels so intimate, perfect for couples. it’s somewhat hidden, so when you are driving to the location you don’t think the hotel is going to look like what you see in the pictures but let me tell you that once you get there and you walk inside it’s beautiful. The staff was amazing. Raymundo was either the manager or big time boss, I don’t know, but him and his staff were so kind and so helpful all the time. Raymundo talked to the guest to see how their day was and if they needed anything. Also breakfast was included and it was a healthy and delicious option. I would definitely stay here if we ever return to Puerto Viejo. I 100% recommend.
