A busy city with a lot of backpackers who seemed to be having a great time and who wouldn't when winter temperatures are nice and warm. For people who hadn't visited years ago it is probably a regular city with a lot of indigenous residents but those who are to visit after a lot of years will get a big surprise on its growth. The wharf area is very modern and a big change to the hole in the ground that it used to be. The biggest disappointment would be that with all the beaches around it is unsafe to go into the water.Darwin has a good bus service and many fine restaurants. One should not miss visiting the Museum & Art Gallery of the Northern Territory.
An amazing place to start your journey through the Northern Territory Litchfield and Kakadu National Parks not too far away and worth the travel time to stay overnight or 3
Batchelor
The two bedroom cabin was not fancy, but it was certainly clean, practical and the beds were very comfortable (in one room it was a king size bed and the other were 2 singles - perfect for our family of 4). The facilities in the kitchen were good. Being in the Northern Territory having good air con and ceiling fans made it very comfortable. Advice regarding where to get food was excellent - and I can highly recommend the hotel/motel next door for a good meal.
Great stay. Very friendly, helpful, staff. Great location.
Relaxing pool area after tough hikes in the Outback!
The staff worked with me on upgrading our room without making me feel uncomfortable-they were very understanding
Handy to city centre, secure parking and lovely staff. A secure property to stay in.
I wish we could have stayed a second night. We stayed in the dorm rooms (one room for kids, one room for parents). The beds and bedding were so comfortable. The sunset/sunrise platform was amazing and so chill in the evening, with music, drinks and food. The bathrooms were very clean even if they were a 3-minute walk from our room. We at dinner at the pizza place and the food was good, the staff was so friendly, the music was a bonus and the vibe was super-chill. I had fun chatting with other guests. It was such a nice place!
Staff very helpful and friendly! Facilities (pool, jumping pillow, playground) we're awesome for the kids. Cabins was pretty clean and comfy!! Honestly a must stay in the area!!!
Very good spot. Nice, clean and comfortable beds. Very nice pool and good restaurant.
Excellent facilities and value, like many Discovery Parks
The staff are super friendly and helpful and the view was relaxing with everchanging light differentiation dramatic to watch
the ambiance is so calm and peaceful
It was exceptional - location, apartment size, views - amazing
It is a great hotel in the middle of the national park. The food was probably made by a French cook, so the best we have had in Australia so far. The rooms are big and well equipped. The location is excellent.
Fantastic little cabin.. Only built a year ago modern with kitchenette, great shower and own driveway. The pool was wonderful..set among trees and refreshing. Reception and bar staff can't be faulted and huge dinner portions.
The place was lovely, the view exceptional and the staff polite and friendly. I will make it an annual visit for sure.
The bed is super comfy and great pillows too!
great location amazing view spacious
like everything about FreeSpirit. i always stay here. the staff are very nice and welcome me and my family very well. the food was great thanks
Banyan tree was incredible - best things were happy hour, followed by dinner and live music under the Banyan tree lit up by fairy lights. Truly magical and felt like something out of a fairy tale! The cabin had all of the essentials and well-presented.
