If you really have to go to Celestun, do not stay there.
If you really have to go to Celestun, do not stay there. Overpiced and not so clean... Instead, do a one day round trip from Merida by bus, first bus out in the morning, around 5:30am, and back in the afternoon before dark. Celestun is mostly a tourist trap; the fishermen who take you around the place have terrible arguments when one steals clients from another... I wish I hadn't gone, waste of time, waste of money...ALAINFrance
