It’s also near convenience stores and Nara’s main shopping street with lots of shops and restaurants. The room was a little small but an exceptional value. You can walk to Nara Park in about a half-hour or take a clearly marked bus from right outside. It was also easy to walk or bus to the charming Naramachi neighborhood.

The staff were welcoming and helpful. It was easy to walk around the shopping streets, Nara Park, and the various temples. The view of the 5 story pagoda lit up at night was amazing. We enjoyed every minute!

The location is very close to Shijo street where you can enjoy local foods and entertainments. I went to Naramachi for my dinner, and it was also walking distance from the hostel. Naramachi was also nice place to explore.
