This is the main gate - just outside is the starting/ending...
This is the main gate - just outside is the starting/ending point for many of the city's bus routes so it all happens here. The downside is that it is also very busy. You access the walls to walk around from this gate entrance (on you left as you come into the city)

Pile gate very nice, unfortunately there is an unpleasant smell all day - most likely because of the sewage system. At the gate there is a stop for all city bus lines and probably some suburban lines.

Location of the apartment was perfect in the middle of old town, after the evening buzz in the streets it was calm during the night. If you come by taxi/uber ask them to take you to Pile Gate (no steps to the apartment as you walk on Stradun).

We were given excellent instructions on how to get to there. It was no trouble to find just off the main Stradun, with an easy flat walk from Pile Gate. It was very handy having a full laundry on the ground floor for free guest use. We met the House Manager,Jelena, who was so lovely and helpful. We really loved our stay. The view from my window was stunning! Apartment had a good size refrigerator and cooking facilities (which I didn’t use) along with a washing machine (also I didn’t use this) I spent four nights there. Host was lovely. For travellers who are not planning to drive and are catching public transport, this apartment is where you want to stay. Minimal steps to get to the property from the main road. You could not be closer to Old Town unless you were in actually in Old Town. We had regular check ins with our host via messaging who was always prompt in replying. Room was roomy enough, but watch out for the slanted ceiling! Beautiful view of Old Town from our room. Plenty of hangers in the bathroom.JenniteaAustralia

It was very clean and had everything we needed. Great communication from the host and we were even able to leave our bags after check out due to having a late flight.
