I was up on the mountain in the winter ,3 days after...
I was up on the mountain in the winter ,3 days after heaven's door was closed ,so get there when the main attraction is open . I was the last tourist off the mountain ,but it was still fantastic ,everything was covered in ice and it was very foggy ,I still enjoyed the experience. Once again make sure those things you want to see are going to be available

Tianmen Mountain or heavenly gate is a great attraction with stunning views. It is easy accesible by cable car, the routes are clear and there are different things to see and to do, the temple, the gate and the glass walk. I prefered this place over the Yangjiajie Scenic Aera.

Also the location was very near to the bus station (-> National Park) and the cable car (-> Tianmen Mountain), under 10 minutes by foot each. Lots of food places around. The room was clean and had all necessities provided. Also many international people were there, so it's easy to connect and exchange experiences.

The location is perfect, only 300 meter walk from Tianmen mountain Cable Car. A plentiful breakfast buffet in the morning that is delicious with Chinese and western style. It is super nice for international traveller. As the staff member with good English, Matthew was super helpful in organising things for us and went above and beyond. Even though the hotel is close to the food stalls, it is very quiet. We got pick up from the airport even though we arrived at 10pm. I had the opportunity to travel to Zhangjiajie and met the owner of the inn, who was very warm and friendly! The hotel is also very close to Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park, about 10 minutes' walk away. There is also a lot of delicious food near the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel, if there is a chance, I will definitely stay in this hotel!!MikeChina
