Located in Tola, a few steps from Playa Gigante, Monkey House Hostel provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. Grateful for my three weeks here. Dreamy. Felt safe and very looked after from the start. William is kind, generous, and respectful.

Facing the beachfront in Moyogalpa, Rancho Tranquillo features a garden and a terrace. Free WiFi and a tour desk are featured. All units at the hostel are equipped with a seating area. The ranch is beautiful and spaceous with lots of hammocks and spots to hang out. Daniela and Tony are the absolute best, so kind and helpful. There is only one dorm, so not that many people, and because of that it feels like a small family. The ranch is 15 minute walk from the town/ferry, so it is nice and quiet. The breakfasts are amazing and really good value, and one day we had a family dinner, which was delicious. You are surrounded by animals and flowers and trees, even mango-trees which you can help yourself from! They organise volcano tour (with delicious packed lunch), kayak and laundry if you need. This was my favourite place to stay on my trip, everyone should go visit this ranch!!

Boasting a garden, shared lounge, terrace and free WiFi, Hostel Clandestino Maderas is set in Playa Maderas, 600 metres from Maderas Beach and 1.3 km from Marsella Beach. My partner and I stayed in the Duplex studio while staying at Hostel Clandestino and let me tell you, it was freaking fantastic! We had two nights booked and push back our plans back by one day so we could stay a third, we’d stay longer if we could, we are in love. We did keep to ourselves a bit as it was our surfing and decompression time from our past weeks but it seems that that hostel is not only great for relaxing but for social life too. Nice common area people seem to mingle, and a cool outdoor kitchen by a skate bowl where they had a BBQ and some music and hangs around yesterday, and it wasn’t too noisy or anything, sounded like a good time! The shared kitchen and washrooms seems clean and beautiful…. Though we didn’t use those cause we had our own!! It was sooo nice to have our own kitchen, fridge, and washrooms what a treat! The studio is the best experience we’ve have had yet on my stay in Nicaragua, so beautiful, peaceful and everything you need, including the cutest little black kitty cat that you can’t get enough of! Highly recommended spoiling yourselves for a few days, and for having pretty much your own tiny home (that is adorable) surrounded by nature, it is very fairly priced! Maderas beach is like a 5 minute walk for your beach chills and surfing needs…also no more then 10 minute walk to some hostel restaurant’s or beach food if you don’t have food to cook as Clandestino doesn’t have a restaurant or bar. We will defiantly return to this little slice of paradise if we get the chance to in the future. Thank you! Xx

La Urraca Loca Hostel has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Balgue. Featuring barbecue facilities, the property is located within 12 km of Maderas Volcano. La Urraca all a was a little cosy home on Ometepe. The design is quirky, using eco materials, and everything was well thought through. We were shocked to have our first warm shower! Breakfast was well priced. The bed was comfy. We loved our stay!

Set in Popoyo, 600 metres from Santana Beach, Popoyo Republic offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. Great host! André(sorry no clue how to write your name) location is really good. Only 8 guests maximum at a time easy to connect with people. Family vibe. Thank you for the good vibes

Set in Rivas, 300 metres from Playa Amarillo, EL TUMBO offers accommodation with free bikes, free private parking, a garden and a shared lounge. Perfect place to stay if you are looking for a cozy hostel with friendly staff and a relaxed vibe. Perfect location in relation to the Spanish school to improve your Spanish, not to mention you have several top surf spots within walking distance! There is a large living room with a bar where you can get drinks. Everyone usually sits here chatting, drinking, watching a movie, playing ping pong or a game of pool. Almost every evening there is something to do in or around the hostel such as Burger night, Taco night and Trivia night. There is a communal kitchen with all amenities and various places where you can relax, such as several hammocks or sofas. The Garden will soon be renovated with, among other things, a volleyball field. There is already a slackline and campfire spot available! And don't forget to cuddle or play with the cutest dog (Lobo) and sweetest cat (Venus)!

Set in San Juan del Sur, 70 metres from Nacascolo, the SPACE. Offers accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a restaurant. is so nice and comfy, one of the cutest hostels I have ever stayed !! loved the pool and the hangout areas :) staff is also very nice

Hush is an adult-only hotel. It features a restaurant, bar, a shared lounge and garden in San Juan del Sur. this property also provides guests with a barbecue. Everything , great pool and great view Of the ocean

Hostel Julieta is set in Rivas, 33 km from Christ of the Mercy Nicaragua, and has a terrace. Free WiFi is available and private parking can be arranged at an extra charge. Clean hotel with great, friendly hosts. We used the hotel to go to Ometepe Island the next day. Had a room with air conditioning, very comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious and varied.

Set in Mérida, 3.9 km from Maderas Volcano, Los Chocoyos offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. This place exceeded all my expectations! The location on the beach is magical, you can wake up to the lake & watch amazing sunsets. The staff are wonderful too they cooked up a meal for me one night even though the kitchen was closed & upgraded me to a better room because they had some spare & they speak English. Perfect if you want to escape the busy inland places like Granada, San Juan Del Sur or Rivas for a few days.
