Absolutely beautiful place to stay for a few nights, luxe traveller vibes, everything was just spot on from the design of the place, the music playing, the atmosphere, the water available and great food and reasonably priced for quality. Unlimited coffee at breakfast. We spent a whole day here just chilling and it was bliss. Sunday Funday came here so we got to join in without doing the whole day! The yoga class was amazing and in such beautiful location. Shuttles into town available during the day.

The views here are unbelievable, the staff are so friendly, the pool at sunset is beautiful, the private rooms are big, the coworking areas are great, I met some amazing people here, and you're super close to Playa Maderas. I had a car so it made the trek up the hill a lot easier. If you don't have transport, it will be a lot more difficult to get around, although there is a regular shuttle.

Owners are amazingly nice and helpful, the kitchen is well equipped, bedroom is modern and comfy, the hotel is so close to the beach, i liked the rooftop hammock space, everything was perfect !

We booked with Hostal Villas Mexico because it was budget friendly and close to Maderas. At first we felt a little out of place because no one spoke a lick on English and there were no other English speaking travellers there either, but as we were exploring the place a couple of ladies who work there introduced them selves and took the time to show us around and patiently dealt with our bad Spanish as we tried to communicate how appreciative we were that they were showing us the beautiful land. Apart from the free breakfast and coffee they had already made us, they also made us the most delicious fried fish rice and chips for lunch, and invited us for dinner! They were so accommodating lovely and sweet! I sadly can’t remember all their names…. Maria, Janet? I think haha And…. Gosh I don’t remember but three main ladies seem to run the joint and they are awesome! We joked around, got hugs, and it ended up being a very lovely stay. Cabana #2 was sooo clean, had a mini fridge, air conditioning, super comfy bed, tv with cable with lots of movies you can swap to English, Clean ensuite that provided plenty of TP, clean towels soap and shampoo. We Felt super safe and secure, as there is security at the front gate, and again breakfast, coffee and packed lunch included (though we had ours there) it was great! Very quiet and chill and surrounded by lots of trees and plants and they are adding more diversity and plants all around, can’t wait to revisit in 10 years to see how it looks! Super super close to marsella and 5 minute Moto ride to Maderas.

Exceptional Value. WiFi is excellent given the large number of people in this hostel and the included breakfast is very good for a freebie. You may also eat other meals there should you wish for reasonable prices. The room prices are exact too, so you won't be charged a penny over your booking rate - they're very precise with this which is always appreciated. Location is excellent too, with only a 1 minute walk to the beach, supermarket and centre. Hammocks galore :)

My partner and I stayed in the Duplex studio while staying at Hostel Clandestino and let me tell you, it was freaking fantastic! We had two nights booked and push back our plans back by one day so we could stay a third, we’d stay longer if we could, we are in love. We did keep to ourselves a bit as it was our surfing and decompression time from our past weeks but it seems that that hostel is not only great for relaxing but for social life too. Nice common area people seem to mingle, and a cool outdoor kitchen by a skate bowl where they had a BBQ and some music and hangs around yesterday, and it wasn’t too noisy or anything, sounded like a good time! The shared kitchen and washrooms seems clean and beautiful…. Though we didn’t use those cause we had our own!! It was sooo nice to have our own kitchen, fridge, and washrooms what a treat! The studio is the best experience we’ve have had yet on my stay in Nicaragua, so beautiful, peaceful and everything you need, including the cutest little black kitty cat that you can’t get enough of! Highly recommended spoiling yourselves for a few days, and for having pretty much your own tiny home (that is adorable) surrounded by nature, it is very fairly priced! Maderas beach is like a 5 minute walk for your beach chills and surfing needs…also no more then 10 minute walk to some hostel restaurant’s or beach food if you don’t have food to cook as Clandestino doesn’t have a restaurant or bar. We will defiantly return to this little slice of paradise if we get the chance to in the future. Thank you! Xx
