Given that my accommodation on the Arbat cancelled at the last minute I was very fortunate to be able to get this budget option. Lena, the host was very hospitable going as far as giving me an opportunity to sample some home made borscht. It is in a great location for going to the mountains and Lena had a lot of useful information about the regions rural areas. It is a considerable walk from the Almaly district of the city but for me that was a good thing as Almaty is an enjoyable city to navigate on foot with it's wide avenues and idyllic parks.

I loved everything about this place. The host was friendly and helpful, and could speak English. My room was very clean with lovely fresh sheets and towels, and a very comfortable mattress.
