Titicaca Sariri Lodge

Puno

Units come complete with a private bathroom equipped with a shower and free toiletries, while certain units at the homestay also have a seating area.

Guests at the homestay can enjoy cycling and fishing nearby, or make the most of the garden. Issac had great communication from the start and provided very easy instructions to and from Puno. We took a local taxi to the port as there was no Uber and the boat ride which is amazing was about 20 min. For an additional cost we opted for an amazing dinner brought to our room. Our fav was the bed which was the comfiest in all of Peru with a king size mattress. Sunset views are spectacular and the serene calm of the lake was an experience. Thank you to Issac and his family for all their hospitality and very warm welcome and goodbye.

Musiña Lodge

Amantani

Situated in Amantani in the Amantaní Island region, Musiña Lodge has a garden. Boasting a 24-hour front desk, this property also has a restaurant and a sun terrace. Staff on-site can arrange airport transfers. Authentic, unique homestay experience. Shower is topped up by Ernesto with water from the spring, warmed by the sun. Immaculate toilets with chamber pots for emergencies! Immerse yourself in Amantani life. Diego was on hand as a tour guide, and with heaps of knowledge, he showed us Amantani. Ilda, his sister, and mum Juana delivered amazing local food, dish after dish of local food. With comfy beds topped with llama blankets, we had an exceptional stay. From sharing English phrases for Quechua with Ernesto to drinking local tea, watching the sunsets, to hiking the local trails, I can not recommend enough.

Richar’s home - experience Amantani with my family

Amantani

Featuring lake views, Richar’s home - experience Amantani with my family in Amantani features accommodation and a garden. Boasting luggage storage space, this property also has a restaurant and an outdoor fireplace. The homestay has family rooms. Richar, Lucrezia and Isabella are very lovely people and very generous hosts. Richar told us about the island and showed us around, Lucrezia’s cooking is truly wonderful and Isabella is a very nice girl, who would play cards with us in the evening. The rooms are very clean, there is a hot shower and it’s an easy walk from the port of Amantani. The island itself is so peaceful and tranquil, a perfect rest. At night the stars are magestic with Milky Way visible with naked eye. I would highly recommend staying at Richar’s place to experience the magic of the island in its authenticity. Also, from what I’ve read it is much better for the families who live on the island to book a stay directly with them rather than through an agency.

Posada de Oliver

Llachon

Featuring a bar, Posada de Oliver features accommodation in Llachon. This beachfront property offers access to free WiFi and free private parking. The homestay has a public bath, outdoor fireplace and picnic area, and guests can grab a bite to eat in the restaurant. This was a perfect stay. Oliver, Sebastiana and their children are a lovely family who you instantly feel at home with. The room we had was spacious, private and had a beautiful view of the lake. Hot water and WiFi worked amazingly for the area and the food provided (for an extra cost, but really good value), was very tasty and varied. There are a few walks to do in the area to keep you busy, and Oliver can also take you out on his boat to some of the local islands and to see the trout farm he runs (again, for an extra fee but for what you get, we thought it was really good value for money. You have to remember you have the boat completely to yourselves and there were no other tourists on the floating island we visited, making the experience very authentic). There's a really nice outdoor seating to enjoy the sun and view. Getting there is also very easy with collectivos going regularly from Puno and Juliaca for next to nothing. Nothing could have been better. Thank you Oliver, Sebastiana, Diana and little Adele.

Uros Lodge Lover Titiqaqa

Puno

With pool views, Uros Lodge Lover Titiqaqa is located in Puno and has a restaurant, free shuttle service, bar and garden. The property has river and garden views, and is 4.6 km from Estadio Enrique Torres Belon. The homestay features family rooms. I knew from the reviews this place would be charming, hospitable and unique and it was even better than I expected. This place has a special place in my heart, the family that lives here is beautiful ❤ We dined at their family restaraunt twice and the trout is wonderful, fresh from their lake and the meals are carefully prepared by the entire family. We had mashed potatoes with fried trout which was delicious for 20sol. The fresh juice at breakfast was amazing too!! This is one of the most interesting places I've ever stayed at and I highly recommend it. You will have to do without modern facilities like WiFi or a heater but it is absolutely worth it. It is warm enough with all the blankets and the hot shower does get very hot. My partner and i had a very deep sleep, its nice and quiet on the Island and the bed is cosy. Bring thermal clothes and a raincoat. Our host was so helpful and sweet too, making sure we were OK and constantly available to pick us up on his boat when we were in the city of Puno, when I'm sure he is a busy man with lots to maintain on his reed island. I wish you guys all the best, please support this charming little family on the reed Island
