Garden is gorgeous and once you enter from the street it feels like a different planet. Decent breakfast was served, and delicious home cooked traditional dinner.

This hotel stay exceeded my expectations in many ways. Staffs were all hospitable and helpful all the time. When I checked in around 2:00 I was hungry and they offered me to serve sandwich just for me, which was really tasty. It was a simple potato and tomato sandwich but it tasted very good. Best sandwich I ever had in India. The room was beautifully decorated and so clean. The bed was most comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic. Masala chai is not to be missed. For dinner service I am not a big eater so I asked them to give me just a small dinner and they happily accommodated it. I would certainly stay here next time I am in Agra.

Breakfast was great and plentiful! The staff is very friendly and helpful. Overall this place is a gem. We highly recommend going here. If you want to do some sightseeing ask the reception, they can call Dhanpal. He’s very friendly and a great tuk tuk driver.

I write this review from a specific perspective — I had arrived in Vrindavan with a group but then stayed a few days on my own. I have been to Vrindavan previously but I was a little nervous about staying solo as a western woman… Vraja can present some challenges for us in regards to attracting attention, even if you are an experienced devotee. I usually stay at MVT so I can walk directly to ISKCON by myself, but it was full and I am SO GLAD I found Shree Krishna Bhakti Ashram instead! It perfectly threads the needle between having comfortable rooms and being peaceful and still in the center of Vrindavan, with the real spirit of Vrindavan and not like some of the newer developments. “Ashram” conjures up thoughts of austerities — and on the same trip I stayed alone in a Math that I couldn’t handle alone… but the rooms here are incredibly comfortable and provide things that seem luxurious in an ashram, especially for the price. I had a king-sized bed with comfortable mattresses, multiple pillows, and duvets — no fuzzy brown blankets … A wardrobe, a table and chairs for sitting, a KETTLE and tea/coffee cups with some hot drink packets and even digestive biscuits!!! Also an amazing ceiling fan, real towels in the washroom, a shower head providing hot water with water pressure instead of a bucket… etc. There’s even a TV with cable, I believe, but I did not get a chance to use it. there’s also an enclosed colonial-style veranda looking out onto a lawn which is a peaceful place to enjoy your beverage. The ashram features a small temple in the back which seems to offer small aartis daily, but this really seemed like more of a guest house than a residential ashram. anyways here is why you should choose this place as a solo woman — there is always security and the staff are AMAZING and super helpful! I booked specifically based on other Booking reviews that expressed this.

First he let me arrive earlier in the morning to stay inside, it basically saved me cause else there would be anywhere to go that time. And when I checked out, he helped me getting an auto to where I was going. Also helped with tips for my travel to Agra and recommended restaurants. The house is beautiful and the room/bathroom are clean. Room is comfy, not cold and there was hot water, but for bucket bath. Wifi is also pretty good. They gave me a towel, a bottle of water and some soaps and other bath stuff, and a flip-flop. I recommend.

We were lucky to stay at Anand Kanan during our 3-day trip to Varanasi. Both of us were in Varanasi for the first time. The experience on the streets with all the colors,sounds and smells can be intense, so it was very good to have a quiet safe home where we can just come and rest. Rooms are comfortable and clean, and it was great to have a restaurant inside where the food was good and we didnt need to put extra effort to find a good place to eat if we felt tired. It was a great pleasure to meet the owner of the hotel, Arvind. We enjoyed his welcome tea and great conversation about Indian philosophy and Varanasi.
