Absolutely beautifully made traditional Japanese house. Instead of the modern smells of plastic walls and floors and chemical paints, you get the scent of cedar carpentry, sand walls, and tatami - enjoy while it lasts, fewer people can build such house every year. You have some of the most beautiful jinjas around, and for us, an easy cycling road up the valley of tetori into some of the most stunning traditional japanese landscapes of rice paddies and forests.

Huge house in a quiet neighborhood, ample spaces, enough room to fit 2 families comfortably, internet, kitchenware, bathrooms upstairs and downstairs, laundry room, magazines and comics to read (in Japanese)… and I could continue on and on. This is by far the best place in which I’ve ever stayed while traveling abroad. On top of that, the host left information about a sento (public baths) nearby that were also really good (indoor and outdoor facilities, good restaurant).

The use of a digital lock wasa bit fiddly but gave so much privacy. You could leave by just closing the door without having to check out! the house was generously spacious with a dining area and hall where the family could gather and that was great. The townhouse was comfortable though a little cold but it had great airconditioning in the rooms. the kitchen was well equipped including a steam oven. After getting the hang of it, found it better than microwave!

The hostess is amazingly kind and friendly. Many thanks for that. Very helpful and replies quickly with good information. Besides that, the hostess speaks English very well. The house gave me a lovely authentic traditional feeling. The space is very big in my opinion and has lots of appliances. Most of the things have English instructions with them. Besides that the house is very clean. There is a bus stop very close to the house, but most of the things are within walking distance for me.
