The owner was a real friendly person, and very welcoming. She made sure I was properly checked in and everything was in order, and gave some extra tips about the small town.

Studio is quite small, but comfortable, very clean and well equipped. Kitchen is nice for preparing basic meals. The terrace is fantastic, overlooking the ocean and gets a lot of sun. Pool towels are great to take with you to hot springs.

Accommodations were perfect. Room was perfect. And the host went above and beyond to make our time here very special. And fresh eggs for breakfast were amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and appreciated the many local tips on places to dine and to get the best views of the southern coast of Sao Miguel. We highly recommend staying here. Great value, excellent conversation and host makes you feel very comfortable.

On our first day, we went in early to drop our bags. The hosts offered us breakfast and said we could wait until our checkout time in the lounge area. They were the kindest people. They even told us about the attractions we should visit and the best routes to get there. Were above and beyond our expectations.

El Matriz Guest House, situado en Ribeira Grande, a 300 metros de Ponte dos Oito Arcos, ofrece jardín, habitaciones para no fumadores y conexión WiFi gratuita. This was the best accomodation of our holidays on the Acores. We felt very comfortable. Everything was clean and we missed nothing. The breakfast was fanatastic and we loved the little details like the selfmade cake and jam. It's located near the centre but very quietly. We could see the ocean from the terrace.
