Guesthouse SHIGI is located in Nakatsugawa, 46 km from Gero Station, 24 km from Ōi, as well as 24 km from Enakyo Wonderland. The guesthouse gives a homely feeling, and we were warmly welcomed by the owner even if we arrived a bit late. It was the perfect stay as a base for the nakasendo trail. The house is completely renovated but you can feel how it was 110 years back when it was built. It has all the amenities you might need, and the spaces are huge! Great relaxing garden in the back :)

Offering mountain views, Guesthouse Nedoko is an accommodation situated in Nakatsugawa, 21 km from Ōi and 21 km from Enakyo Wonderland. We loved our stay here before heading up to Tsumago. Cozy room with a writing desk overlooking a beautiful view of the mountains. Bathrooms and showers were very clean, nice breakfast/kitchen area.

Just a 2-minute walk from JR Takayama Train Station and Takayama Nohi Bus Center, Guesthouse Tomaru offers an renovated 80-year old Japanese-style accommodation. Cute little place, owner helped us plan out our next day in Kamikochi and was very patient and kind 😊

Attractively set in the centre of Takayama, ROMANSTAY offers a balcony, air conditioning, free WiFi and flat-screen TV. The apartment was very clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. We stayed for one night during the Takayama festival as a couple but it can accommodate more guests. The open-air bath was fun and easy to use with privacy.

Set in Nakatsugawa, 21 km from Ōi and 21 km from Enakyo Wonderland, GUESTHOUSE YANAGIYA offers air conditioning. The accommodation was clean and cosy, and Kento-san was most friendly and welcoming. Privacy was a plus point too. Highly recommend.
