Spencer Suites was a surprisingly nice find, a wonderful change from the run of the mill motels along the highway heading south from Perth. My suite was enormous and quite luxurious. Very well and tastefully appointed. A great place to spend a couple of days.

Hosting was immaculately friendly and informative; rooms were a delight, the shower was effective, beds comfortable and breakfast was excellent. Highly recommended.

The colonial style building dates from 1881 and formerly housed the National Bank. It is the cream building between the palms in the above photo. The rooms are like a classical art gallery with (in the case of Room 1) the addition of a nice view out over King George Sound. My room was quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The owner is charming and provided a good breakfast. I have never stayed in such an interesting guest house anywhere in the world.
