Next to the tram station. The Rathaus is in 10 minutes easy walk. Very clean hotel. Reasonable breakfast. The size of the room is all right for few days stay. The room is clean, the air conditioning worked well.

The Central City Hotel Rochat is housed in a historic, listed building in the old town of Basel. Hotel has fantastic location. It is near old town. We had a room with very nice view. It was our very first time in Basel, and in Switzerland we are in love with this city. Staff from hotel was very helpful and kind. Room was very clean. I recommend you to take breakfast because it’s really delicious. As tourists you get tourists card so you can explore whole city and get discounts on all attractions. Also public transport is foc, so it makes your stay more interesting. Receptionist are very kind and they are also suggesting what you can visit and where you can go. Our stay in hotel was fantastic so we are coming back again!

The hotel was adjacent to a church and a music museum and the surroundings were calm. The room was exactly as shown in the photos and was nicely and clean. I stayed alone and was able to rest comfortably on a wide bed with a good firmness mattress. The shower had hot water. The heating was off, probably because it was the beginning of March, but I turned it on as it got cold at night. It was nice that it warmed up quickly. The hotel is located at the top of a gently sloping staircase path, but you can also take the lift. Check-out was 11am, which gave me enough time to explore the centre in the morning, have breakfast and then return to the hotel. Highly recommended!

And getting a free of charge Basel Card which gives you free public transportation as well as discounts to various museums and attractions was simply perfect!
