My trip was for business, so location was not a priority, just cleanliness and comfort, area is rural, not a vacation choice for those looking, but it's clean and fresh and comfortable, I also felt safe in my room...wasnt expecting stairs, but I can overlook for the surprisingly great room I had....2nd night a dog crying kept me woke..????...i got to go back to the area in a couple weeks...i will book there again for sure.

The town is small and has limited choices for eating out. It has a small downtown area that is well kept. The local coffee house on the square does much more than serve coffee, with food offerings, milk shakes and a nice atmosphere. It is the place to go.

We didn't see much of the town.
We didn't see much of the town. We stayed here after being at the Tulip Festival in Pella and returned to Pella the next morning. After getting to Oskaloosa around 8 pm, we bought Subway and brought it to our room to eat. It seemed like there were not other restaurants open by that time of the evening. One we stopped at closed at 8,

Oskaloosa was a great option for visiting during the Tulip Festival in Pella. Only about a 20 minute drive away. Access to the hotel was easy and parking was plentiful and free. The staff was friendly.

I was born and raised in Oskaloosa so I enjoy visiting when I can. Most of my family lives there so when we gather it is in Osky. My family is involved in stock car, drag strip, and go-cart racing which Osky and the surrounding towns have to offer. I make many trips back and forth there during the year and there are times my family stay at a motel to have our own bathrooms or just quiet time.

I attended Wm Penn University many years ago and have fond memories of the people in Oskaloosa. So, it isn't the town that draws me there but rather the memories and a few friends I made in some very formative years. A walk around campus, seeing the students and knowing they are at the beginning of a life time ever influenced by their experiences there is what gives me hope for the future.
My only complaint was that there were no plastics forks for breakfast; only knives and spoons. I had to eat a waffle with a spoon! When we told the staff member, she said, “We don’t have forks out right now.” I ca honestly say I’ve never in my years of traveling had a hotel run out of forks. I did feel bad for her because she was trying to work the front desk and help the diners at the same time. I am sure Covid is the reason for this.
Perfect location for us; clean; new; modern with more USB ports than some hotels for devices; TV screen on with personalized greeting; contactless check-in hrs ahead; more modern keyless entry card w option to use phone if registered that option at front desk; great hot & cold brkfst choices; elevator; pillow choices.
What breakfast? All that was available was Frootloops which was stale toast apples and yogurt.. coffee juice...nothing hot to eat no eggs bacon sausage or waffles? Why? Thinking of canceling other reservations coming up and booking with another hotel for better service.
The hotel was on a main road into town, so easy to get to, although it was across town from the location of the function we were attending. There was a free continental breakfast.
The most comfortable beds we’ve slept on in a hotel in a LONG time. The room was clean, as well as the lobby and outside of the property. Love that it’s right next to a Walmart.
