It was an accommodation where we experienced Kars province completely. From the moment we entered the hotel, everything was like a fairy tale. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The view was so beautiful that we watched it for hours.
Our walk in the historical places around the hotel was very nice. In the evening, you can spend hours by the fire in the gardens by the river.
The employees were very helpful and our conversations were very entertaining. I can't find words to say about breakfast, I will miss it so much. Her şey için çok teşekkür ederiz!

We loved staying here, a much more personal experience during a long trip. Learned a lot about the region and enjoyed spending time chatting over tea! Great location and we were able to arrange a taxi easily for a day trip. Cosy room (we were there in January) and comfy too. Would love to stay in the the room in the backyard next time! Loved to meet your dogs, too <3

Traveling by train to Kars might not have been the best option although an experience. Attractions like Ani are a distance away, use the little bus, taxi's will rip you off. The bus driver however will not sell you a 1 way ticket. At the current price 30 TRY each way, is well worth it. You will however only have 2 hours to explore, but that is sufficient.
The food choices are exactly the same as the rest of Turkey, Doner, Iskendar, etc.
Very important point, you can get a bus in the city and do not have to go to the Otogar outside of town.

Kars is a gem in the East that many should visit.
Kars is a gem in the East that many should visit. It has access to other countries like Armenia, Georgia.
Living standard here is much lower than Istanbul.
I will spend more time here if given another chance to visit Turkey
I had my hammam here for only 110 TL, which also included massage. You can never find this in Istanbul

Kars is a fascinating town with an interesting history and beautiful location. In places it is very dirty and dilapidated, with buildings crumbling and empty spaces where they have collapsed or been demolished. However, there seems to be a good deal of restoration work going on and the area around the castle and the main historical buildings has been developed and is clean and pleasant.
It is worth making a visit to the ruins of Ani, the ancient Armenian capital, right on the border with present-day Armenia. Very beautiful and atmospheric. A local bus goes there once a day, leaving from very close to the hotel.

Underrated city in the edge of Anatolia.
Underrated city in the edge of Anatolia. The place offers great unique cuisine and delicious local products. Also, great opportunities for visiting important historical and natural sites. Recommended to do the trip to Kars by the Dogu Express train from Ankara, which is a great experience in itself.

weather was good.
weather was good. Its a nice town to walk round, with some historic buildings such as the castle and some good value cafes and restaurants. The best thing about Kars isthe journey to it, but its not a town with tumble weed blowing through it. It doesn't have anything spectacuar in it, but you do have the sense that you are at the end of Turkey, which you are

I came to Kars to see the ancient city remains of Ani.
I came to Kars to see the ancient city remains of Ani. Worth all the effort to get here. Kars also has some interesting sights, a fortress, russian buildings from the 1800s, mosques, old hamans, good restaurants. Found 1 bar and a great barber for haircutting
When we arrived, we were upgraded to a suite. Our room was very clean, spacious and well appointed (good bathroom, comfortable bed). Cheltikov hotel is located in an ancient russian mansion and is nicely decorated. Buffet breakfast was good with a large choice of cheese (Kars is famous for its cheese), cakes, jams and so on. Moreover, the location is very good, a few minutes walk to the citadel and to Atatürk street where there are many restaurants and cafes. There's also a nice garden at the back of the hotel.
located in wonderful area, very kind people,
upon entering the hotel we found very nice and supportive reception “AHMET” who help us a lot and shared outstanding advices that’s why we extent our stay in this wonderful hotel for one more night , hereby i would like to appreciate all kind supports and hospitality of Ahmet during out stay,
I will recommend this hotel to my friends who are looking to experience peaceful, kind people, sightseeing, world heritage
Staff were friendly and helpful
Breakfast was pretty good
Room and common areas are clean and comfortable
Bed is comfortable
Well located near the castle precinct
Quiet location but close to all amenities
On site hotel hamam is the best I've visited in Turkiye
Great value hotel in a country that often has overpriced and underwhelming accommodation.
I originally booked for 1 night, but stayed for 3, mainly because of this hotel
Excellent hotel very well located in the city. Close to the castle and the main streets. The room was great, big and comfortable. Very good beds and nice bathroom. The staff was very nice and cordial. The breakfast was good, I just missed some kind of juice for those who are not drinking too much tea but I know that is weird in Turkey. When I go back to Kars I will definitely stay in this hotel. The best option!
Very clean. Excellent staff - helpful & friendly. Nese especially. Was also set up with an extraordinary driver, Tahsin, who took me to several places outside of Kars (thank you, Nese). No time limits set (especially at Ani) or pressure to hurry. Very patient, friendly, fair price and safe driving. I would stay again.
The hotel is set in a historical Russian building which looks amazing. The room is also quite spacious and clean. Its location is great since it is very close to the citadel of Kars. The breakfast was nice as well and their cheese selection is simply amazing as Kars is famous for its cheese products.
It was a lovely hotel and the staff were most accommodating. We had some trouble with the Wi-Fi and the staff were so helpful until we had our computers going. The breakfast was really nice. They were also helpful in finding us a wonderful guide and recommendations for dinner.
The hotel is well-located, very close to Kars castle. The area around the hotel has nice cafes and restaurants. The staff are very helpful. On both days we needed to leave early and they arranged early breakfast for us. The room was also comfortable and well-designed.
Very nice flat for a stay in Kars. The view on the fortress is very beautiful, and the city center is 5mn away by foot. The shower is very good. And our host is very reactive, can also arrange taxi transfer. We would be happy to come again!
As a runner, the hotel is located right across from the local track - great benefit! Close to shops and some of the sights of the city. Hotel able to provide taxi driver to go to Ani.
This hotel is near to shops and restaurants. The room is slightly smaller but it’s still nice. If u need a tour to Ani, kindly ask the staff. They will arrange it for you.
great hotel in a very quiet place near the mountains and the river in a Russian empire-built building, the rooms are very modern though, reception is very welcoming!
