The villa is absolutely beautiful! There are hammocks everywhere and you're literally 10 feet away from the ocean. The volunteers there were all very kind and welcoming. The surf lessons ROCKED. Ryan is an insanely incredible teacher. If you're going to stay here, you need to do a surf lesson.

I stayed 2 days and really enjoyed my time there.
I stayed in playa st Blas during the day and drove to playa El Tunco every evening for the restaurants and the night life. Check out farallones and al acantilados hotels for a more refined experience in La libertad.
The restaurant at the farallones is worth a visit at least

Beautiful beaches; it's is a shame business owners do not invest money in keeping the beaches cleaner. And some of the business owners empty waste in the ocean. So disappointing they have their business there and do not protect this beautiful beaches.

I love La libertad it has so many Beaches and places to explore. It is just amazing. If you live seafood or surfing this is the place. If you ever go there and like the living night and have fun like nightclubs visit El Tunco especially on weekends.

Prices do not reflect the value of the product.
Prices do not reflect the value of the product. The name "Resort" doesn't go with the facility since everything is rustic. Air conditioning does not work very well. I woke up during nights several times in a cold sweat. Bathrooms had only partial enclosures that allow water into the toilet area. Number of towels was limited. Body soap and shampoo was limited or none. La Libertad is a rural area that has limited formal business. So, wondering or shopping around the hotel is not feasible. I tried to cancel one of the two nights and was told it would be too complicated to do it. Food was fine but expensive. Prices were twice as high as what was available at next door beech. I enjoyed the views, the gardens, and the night tranquility. One night would have been enough though.
THEY NEVER RECEIVED MY BOOKING, APPARENTLY. After driving 10hours from Honduras, my group of 7 people were stranded because they said they never received the booking from booking.com. this resulted in us driving around in the middle of the night, during one of the biggest holidays here, looking for accommodation. we found a hotel in the city but had to spend almost $300 more! ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. no response, no communication, no reimbursement! horrible experience as a foreigner in a foreign country!
I stayed with two friends at the hotel. One of the front desk employees, Marlon, was very helpful in every way. It was conveniently located next to a lot of local businesses and Surf City. You can get a cheap thrill or a modern experience by turning left or right. Breakfast was very simple. They delivered it at 8am and it was a random assortment everyday. I would recommend trying breakfast at a restaurant if you have a lot of time as we did. However, it was enough to get the day started.
The place is nice in regards to the two swimming pools, the per-room jacuzzi and the great view.
if you want walking access to el tunco, without going through the highway, forget it. if you are going during the early in the week to el tunco then it’s too far away from the waves. if you want to get away from el tunco during the end of the week, weekend, then it’s good. if you you pay. more than 130 for these rooms, it’s overpriced. there are way better hotels for this price in the area.
Location is excellent. Located right at the beginning of the road leading into El Tunco town, which is only about 500m away. From the hotel can either take the road into town, or walk along the oceanfront boardwalk. The hotel grounds are safe, secure and well maintained including the two pools. The hotel restaurant is clean and food is excellent. Staff are friendly and helpful. My room was large, king size bed was comfortable, shower was large, and AC worked well.
The room was very spacious with a comfortable bed, a lounge chair, closet, and a table. There was a lot of natural lighting with privacy curtains. The bathroom was clean with a charming shower. The grounds had gardens with many plants and nature. I enjoyed my stay. the hotel is a 15 minute walk from El Tunco, a nice safe and walk. The staff was exceptional, with suggesting places for me to visit with a tour guide.
I had a private room as a last minute booking in La Libertad because most dorms and rooms were snapped up. The staff were extremely nice and helpful (even with limited English). A rocky beach is right outside the hostel, though there are massive, round rocks and the tide is strong. Great for watching the sunset or taking a dip. I also really appreciated the turtle sanctuary.
We arrived a bit late but they set us up with our rooms quickly. We also had an early flight, and they asked if we were okay on a ride, since they offer taxi services to the airport.
This place is a great way to save money from the big 5 star hotels, but you are still comfortable and close to the beach and main attractions :)
Pelicano Surf Camp has a very special location and it’s a great experience to sleep right at the beach.
Although it might not be a normal Hotel Standard we would not have missed it for the world. Ulisses and Roxana care for everything you need and are great hosts. We definitely want to visit again. great family business!
The rooms are really nice. But there is no beach at all. It is going to the beach, without a beach, and forcing you to only use the pool. No more than that. Bongaloes are quite nice, but they could build this in the city (far away from the beach) because the beach for this hotel is completely inexistent.
Breakfast options were excellent: buffet style with very good food. Restaurant Pelicanos is also very good and with nice presentation. The views from the hotel are beautiful, good size pools, clean location, quiet and relaxing.
The staff is AMAZING & so accommodating.
Right on the beach near a lot of other rooms, so you get to meet cool people/surfers.
Prime location for El Tunco Beach. They also have a hotel car and he’s the sweetest!
The installations are aged and need better maintenance, its located not close to anything in particular except playa san blas but still a walk. It's a good hotel if all you want to do is surf
staff were friendly, food menu is one of the best along la libertad coast. pool and beach of course are the stars of the place. Playa Shalpa was my fav beach my whole 3 weeks in SV.
The staff was amazing for the hotel and the restaurant; the food and drinks were amazing & the ocean view of the balcony was breath taken 100% recommend getting the balcony view!
The best hostel beds ever and the hotel like service. Of course it gets crowded and the space is rather tiny. But overall, a very good experience in the middle of nowhere.
The location is amazing! The resort is right on the beach, giving easy access to the waterfront. The hotel staff were pretty friendly and were attentive to our needs.
The staff there is great! Very friendly and always happy to help. The food at the hotel is also very good and the breakfast is my favorite part of the day.
