Regarded as the oldest inhabited city of the Americas and its historical capital, none of these things are enough to describe the magic enchainment and colourful people of Cusco. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, its current shape is the colonial result of building on top of many Incan sites. A good example is the Cathedral of Santo Domingo.
Must see places include the walled complex of ‘Sacsayhuamán’, and the remains of the main temple of ‘Coricancha’, dedicated to the Sun God ‘Inti’. For longer Cusco stays, hotels near ‘Plaza de Armas’ central square are ideal to fully enjoy the city. Due to its 3400-metres altitude, some Cusco hotels offer oxygen to help their guests.
Moray, supposedly an ancient experimental agricultural station, is 46 km away, while the Titicaca Lake is 390 km away. The road to Machu Picchu is the famous Inca Trail or ‘Camino Inca’, which encompasses settlements, different Andean environments, and many Incan ruins.
Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport offers several services to Lima. Arriving at Wanchaq Railway Station or ‘Terminal Terrestre de Cusco’ bus station are also popular choices. Come to visit the ancient jewel, enjoy Peru and Cusco with the hotel deals available on Booking.com!

It´s one of the most beatiful cities I've visited. I love the landscape view, people is very kind and it has a lot of activities to do. I stay in Cusco a very short time, but I enjoy it as much as I could. I visited San Blas viewpoint, the Church and Rainbow Mountain, but my favorite place without no doubt was Machu Picchu.

I've been to Cusco several times over the past 25 years and...
I've been to Cusco several times over the past 25 years and also lived here for longer periods and for work. It's always been a hub as there is so much to see and do in and around town. Plan a week there, and you won't be bored. It's a buzzing place, there is such an abundance to choose from (tours, trips, hikes, walks, ruins, accommodation, markets, souvenirs and of course destinations like Machu Picchu and the Inca Trail), it's almost too much. You can do parties and clubs, or enjoy the quiet places, walk the ruins up the hills in nature with stunning views of high cordilleras the beautiful Andean scenery and enjoy the peacefulness in the company of some lamas and alpacas. I found that post-Covid the locals are still struggling with the lack of tourism. Nowadays the markets are better organised and have mainly been moved to indoor facilities over the past decades, tourists often don't know about them, e.g. in Pisac, and the locals suffer from few clients and low business. The regulations around Machu Picchu are ridiculous and overpriced; while it's good some rules are in place to deal with the amount of tourism, it has taken all the joy out of visiting the ruins. There are plenty of equally great alternatives though, if you find MP too expensive, don't want to plan half a year in advance or simply don't enjoy the crowds, go to Pisac instead, walk the full hike, or Choquequirao if you want a multi-day experience. For long timei travellers: if you have time, you can easily stay here for a month exploring the Valle Sagrado, get fit in the altitude, learn about local crafts, food, culture, history, Spanish etc.. After a while, it always feels healthy to leave Cusco again. Safe travels!

Pretty touristy city.
Pretty touristy city. Every building is a shop, a hotel or a restaurant, basically but it's really worth it. Tons of trips/treks/activities to do around (machu picchu, salkantai and inca trails, ruins, museums, rainbow mountain, etc). The city has a good vibe and it's not too expensive (despite being touristy). Getting around was ok. Finding a friendly and trustful taxi is a must :)

A must visit city if you go to Peru.
A must visit city if you go to Peru. There are tons of hiking options outside the city, including Inka Trail, Rainbow Mountain, and the lake etc. The scenery is breathtaking and the Peruvian food is delicious at a Very reasonable price. Come and enjoy Cusco. I will be back.
It is in the San Blas barrio, which is known as an artists’ colony. It has fantastic views over the city (which means it’s a 12-minute uphill walk from the historic town Center). Note, tho, that the entrance to the hotel is via a pedestrian walkway. You might have to haul your bags a block or two and up/down stairs. The decor is charming. Our bed was comfortable; the hotel was very quiet. The staff are friendly, and as helpful as they can be without speaking much English. Our Booking.com price was incredibly good value for money!
One of the best stay I ever had in Peru. The hotel is running by the family, they are so kind they let me stay in the room the whole day on my check out day because I had to catch the bus in the evening at 10 pm. Also very helpful if u have any questions about any tours etc.
The room and the surrounding were very quiet I had a really good sleep during my whole stay.
The rooftop terrace is amazing, such a good view over the whole city. Especially at night.
I can recommend it to 100%
Thanks again for everything! :)

Great option to stay in Cusco. It is located at San Blas, which is a nice place to stay, since is near to the main spots, but far enough from the crowds. The charming streets and quite place completes the scenario.
The hotel itself is very nice. The staff is always ready to help, very friendly. The room is big, clean and confortable. The breakfast has quality, not so many options, but delicious things. The hotel offers coffee, tea and water for the guests at any time of the day. I really recommend this hotel.
The Location is perfect! With great views of the church and convent of Santo Domingo. The best hotel staff we came across in Peru, always friendly, helpful and attentive. We stayed two nights before traveling to Machu Picchu, so we checked out and left our bags in the hotel’s storage. When we returned a couple of days later, they had already done our new check in and the bags were waiting for us in our new rooms. This was a wonderful detail after hours of traveling and feeling really tired.
This is a beautiful, comfortable, welcoming hotel! The hotel is in a very nice small, one way street in the San Blas district not far from the Plaza des Armas. Its an old colonial building with courtyard and galleries--really lovely. The rooms are extremely comfortable with great beds and fully modern and luxurious bathroom. The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and was included in the rate.
The hotel is very modern. Well equipped. The room was nice and even had a bathtub. The heater really helped me during cold nights. The breakfasts they serve are the best ones I had through all my trip in Peru and Bolivia. Really, really good. The location it's good. Walking distance to the center but not in a crowded area. The windows look inside the inner patio so it's not noisy. Rooms have good sound isolation. I couldn't here my neighbors.
Hotel Recoleta boutique in Cusco has recently opened and this is their second property in town. Everything is new, comfy bed, nice hot water, great room and nice breakfast. They are very professional, great hospitality and go above and beyond to make sure your stay in peru memorable. They helped us with booking the city tour (with best Price in town and much cheaper than online) and gave us all locations for shopping and places to visit.
Staff were extrememly helpful! I was stuck in Machu Picchu during Peru's coup & my stuff was left at Killaqente past my reservation. I also had a broken phone. Hotel staff kept my things safe, were flexible about my booking, understanding towards the tourists caught in a bind, and were instrumental in helping me get my phone fixed once I got back in town. I owe them!
Beds were comfortable and the shower water pressure was great.
Antique colonial building from the 17th century, with an amazing look. Great location, very near Plaza de Armas and a very good view from our balcony. The bedroom was very large, as were the beds, and the Room was beautifully decorated. The staff was outstanding, especially Mr. Roger, who was very friendly, kind and helpful (they arranged breakfast to take out when we left early, always provided a taxi when we needed, etc).
We absolutely loved Casa San Blas! The location is perfect... centrally located for the historic district of Cusco and the art district of San Blas. The rooms and hotel spaces are are so charming. The staff is warm and inviting and everyone was very helpful with any questions about our visit. Aida greeted us every morning for breakfast with a beautiful spread and delicious coffee! Will definitely be back!
Corine and Laura made our stay very enjoyable, very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is exactly as in pictures, very cozy and not far from main attractions, easily accessible to Plaza del Armas.
Be aware it is on the street with steep stairs- it’s takes an effort to scale on foot. Otherwise, it’s a gem in San Blas, highly recommend- esp the breakfast on terrace overlooking the roofs of Cusco
Very lovely hotel in great location, around the corner from the main square. Friendly, welcoming doorman, coca tea & other teas available 24/7, along with oxygen tank. Clean facility, comfortable room with functional heater. Staff was wonderful, helpful and friendly. Breakfast was lovely, fresh and always replenished. Enjoyed our stay, felt like at home, location is perfect. Highly recommended.
We loved that the hotel was far enough away from the “hustle and bustle” of the main square but close enough that it was very walkable - about a 10 min walk down. The San Blas area where the hotel is located has lots of great gems for food and shopping.
We also enjoyed breakfast with many options. The room was large, beautifully decorated and beds were very staff were courteous and helpful.
Hotel was lovely and charming; hotel employees were super-nice and extremely helpful; breakfast was delicious, and they packed a box breakfast when we had an early morning tour. Showers were hot. The location was interesting--on a hillside in the San Blas neighborhood, and close to interesting parks, shops, restaurants, and walks.
Very nice hotel with great interior. I really enjoyed my stay here, I had a room with a view to the square. Room and bathroom were super clean and they cleaned everyday. Location is also great, San Blas is very pleasant area. They stored my luggage during my trip to MP that was very comfortable.
Cute hotel in a pretty cool area of Cusco (San Blas), definitely recommended! Rooms are big, well equipped and so nicely decorated, bathroom facilities are new, hot shower is working. I slept so well in the bed!
Good breakfast option, not to say how kind, cheerful and positive is the staff!!
This was a 5 star hotel under a 3 star rating. The rooms were stunning and with the Inca walls I felt it was an added star or 2. The location was right in the center square and the room was a great size. They had a bath also so a good soak was welcomed.
The reception Luis and his partners are really friendly and helpful. The location of hotel is really great. it is only 2 blocks, 100m to Wanchaq station, if you choose Perurail and its Bimodal Service from Cusco. It is the perfect location.
Located In San Blas surrounded by resturants
The Hotel team is amazing espcially Pamela, Kelly, and Vilma - they were so attentive, polite, and welcoming
Thanks for excellent stay
