An elegant hotel. 1) decor includes marble stairs, polished wooded balustrades,wrought iron work and antiques. 2) the view from our ro was as pictured. 3) We were in the heart of the city and easily arranged two tours for a one day stay. 4) the beds were comfortable and furnished with crisp sheets and down bedding. This looked elegant and warm. Unfortunately, I am allergic but the hotel changed the bedding for me

The bed was comfortable, and although the rooms are not soundproof, the hotel is surrounded by a large park, so it is relatively quiet. The decoration of the hotel is very tasteful, and for being an older property, it is well maintained.
A special mention to the staff: they made it a truly unique and enjoyable experience. When we had a problem with the water in the bathroom, they promptly sent a person to fix it. When we asked to change the shampoo and soap devices, they did it as soon as possible. We asked for extra complimentary bottled water and they provided that. We wanted to use the jacuzzi of the hotel, but because of maintenance, they offered us to use the jacuzzi in a suite. Due to a delay with the availability of the suite, they offered complimentary room service and let us stay as much as we wanted in that suite.

After travelling on an overnight bus and arriving in the early hours of the morning, Casa De Avila was a dream to check into with its large comfy bed and hot shower to help us relax.
