This is the third time we have stayed at Woodlyn Park. The first time was 12 year ago & we stayed in the ship then a few years later we booked the plane. We booked two rooms this time: the Hobbit Hole and the Train.
The Hobbit hole is lovely - spacious and warm. My parents were delighted with their space
The train looks great from the outside and has plenty of space inside
The lady who checked us in was lovely

The garden at the cottage was amazing to explore. Te Kuiti has a fantastic Indian Takeaway with a wide range of menu options including a traditional Chicken Tikka Marsala and a toandoor oven to make Naan. Only problem was that we arrived on a weekend and a lot of restaurants nad safes were closed and no shops open (this is normal in New Zealand country areas but not where we come from in Australia). Ladies in the inforamtion centre were very helpful.

We stayed overnight en route from Auckland to New Plymouth so saw little of Te Kuiti, but we saw beauty in the surrounds. We don't recommend taking the bypass route missing Hamilton on a rainy night!

A lovely little country town where you will meet real Kiwis.
A lovely little country town where you will meet real Kiwis. The Maori influence is noticeable and really lovely. I also love Te Kuiti ("The Valley") for it's scenic situation. A perfect place if you just want to rest for a few days.
The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and helping us plan our day, as we'd traveled to do the caves experience nearby.
The restaurant meals were excellent, great steak and burgers and they were very accommodating for my vegetarian partner.
The room itself was a little basic and showing its age, but perfectly comfortable and warm with kitchenette, tv, and private bathroom so the important things were there.
The room was a studio but very large with a living area, table, comfortable chairs. It was close to town for dinner and the Spellbound Caves the next day. There was a small, private outdoor sitting area but we didn’t use it. There are train track facing the back of the room but they didn’t bother us at all. No train whistles or long trains. Highly recommend.
A beautiful location, very peaceful yet close to Te Kuiti and not far from Waitomo caves. We loved looking out over the views of farmland and animals. The accommodation is warm and cosy and the hosts were very friendly and helpful with recommending great places to eat and activities to do. Betty the very friendly sheep was a highlight for the kids (and me).
The food supplied for breakfast was great - bacon and fresh eggs plus cereal and fruit juice - and the lovely touch of fresh baking! Not that far from Te Kuiti but very close to the Taumarunui highway if you were travelling that way. Very highly recommended!! The gardens were the highlight of the stay - like a small arboretum. Thank you Jill!
The hotel was accommodate my last-minute booking. Parking was free and directly in front of my room. The rooms were massive and could easily accommodate a family of four. The kitchenette and dining table were nice to have, and the jacuzzi tub was very clean.
The accommodation was easy to find, nice and central - easy access to the main street. Beds were very comfy. Was great to have access to a fan as was quite warm.
Great to have access to a kitchen and freezer facilities. Had everything you needed there.
Excellent staff who responded to any request cheerfully. Room and electric blankets already put on for us which was lovely for a cold Autumn night.
Very scenic view of Te Kuiti hills and town from room.
Okay for a night, not much else on offer in Te Kuiti accommodation wise.
Fairly basic but had most amenities required.
Neighbouring units could be noisy depending on who is in them.
the gardens were amazing. the walk to the waterfall one of our favorite memories on our 6 week trip.
half hour from the glow worm caves, so fit perfectly into our travels.
Loved this little motel in Te Kuiti. There was great takeaway available in town. We had the room with the river view. We sat outside to drink coffee in the morning.
Easy location if you are travelling through Te Kuiti. Accommodation was pleasant and well provided for. Great breakfast options. Hosts were very helpful. Thank you
The place felt roomy, clean, and nice. Comfortable bed. Convenient parking. Good service from the reception office. Close to Waitomo Caves (about 15 minutes).
