Our stay at Housewithnonials property was simply brilliant. The house and the views were breathtaking, the hosts were so warm and welcoming, my kids still remember that hot chocolate Jen prepped for them!

The cottage is gorgeous and spacious with good internet, very effective heating and great shower. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need and there are rubbish bins and recycling bins out the back. Great location near the railway, bike track and the motorway. Good communication beforehand to get access.

Quiet town, but located near some great walks that could take 2 days to enjoy. Private spring baths are a must and also well run by the local council. The visitor information is filled with all the rele=ant material to make the stay enjoyable.

Te Aroha, translated, means Love, and that is what you will find there, especially if your fortunate to visit Sunday service in the Anglican church, and bonus, staying in the Nunne ry, accommodation, mountain trek, is challenging, but worth it, cycle trails , mostly sealed paths easy going, interesting Spa, and museum, good food, many places to eat, river walks, everything you want for a few days passing through.

Scenery, hot pools and mountain walks are the main reasons to visit Te Aroha. Very limited range of accommodation and restaurants, probably more so since covid lockdowns. Disappointing that in the middle of the holiday season most restaurants were closed in the evening.

Te Aroha is a diamond in the rough .
Te Aroha is a diamond in the rough . It posses the only Soda Hot Spring existing in the world! A wonderful experience and privilege to be soaking in water that is so special, a total Must Do!
The Estuary Walk was equally amazing as well as the walks up the mountain and the walk to the Waiwiri Waterfall . The town has some excellent cafes and restaurants including the Ironic Cafe with yummy, healthy, vegan food options as well
And I lived the Organic shop/cafe where you can get nearly everything under the sun considered natural and wholistic, cute place to sit and relax too.

Te Aroha is a small, pretty town.
Te Aroha is a small, pretty town. We found the locals really friendly. We are walkers so wanted to walk the mountain and weren't disappointing. The town itself has everything you could need - a spa, restaurants and cafes, supermarkets.

Finding your way around Te Aroha is really easy.
Finding your way around Te Aroha is really easy. The town is clean and well cared for. There is loads to do eg cycling (mountain bike park or cycle trails), walking (around town or up the mountain), spa (youve got to try booking a mineral spa for an hour!), gardens (they are beautiful), eateries (loads of choice... we ate dinner at The Grand but the RSA was the best choice), If youre a coffee snob like us then Villa Nine has the best ... and the best pies!), Ironique Cafe does great food, but not too far out of town if youre doing the cycle trail is the Old Forge and a little further Cafe 77.
It has a full kitchen, laundry with washing machine, air conditioner, a huge TV with google chrome etc. We had more than what we needed. It felt as convenient as staying at home. The location of the motel is perfect, close to everything. Te Aroha Mineral Spas, the starting point of Te Aroha Tracks, are within walking distance, Countdown is across the road, i-SITE and Museum are next doors. Many eateries on both sides. Staffs, especially Glenys, are very accommodating and friendly, gave us many good advice for our trip.
A novel and authentic accommodation - it is relatively spartan (appropriate for an ex-nunnery) with shared bathroom and toilet facilities. Rooms are small and everything is spotlessly clean. Location is great and it is an easy walk to the Spa and restaurants.
Everything was lovely, clean, well set out and everything one needed for a nice break away. Te Aroha is small, but the motel location was great, right in front of the famous hot pools. Staff very friendly, no complaints for this accommodation.
It was so clean and tidy. Had everything we needed. The shower pressure was AMAZING!!!
The bed was comfortable and the room was warm (we stayed on quite a cold night).
Right in the heart of Te Aroha, easy to get to everything we needed.
It is important to understand what type of accommodation the Nunnery is. it is not a motel. it is immaculate, well run, spotlessly clean, quiet etc. it would be brilliant for a group looking for a nice quiet place to stay in Te Aroha.
This is an excellent place to stay in Te Aroha. Easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants and right on the bike track. We were a group of 6 with e-bikes everything super easy and well equipped
Very handy location and really good information on surrounding walks etc. Handy to restaurants and pubs. Friendly staff and very good value for money. Close to the Mineral Spa which is worth visiting.
Everything was fantastic, right from the start to the finish.
The proprietors where friendly and informative and their cute dogs were a bonus.
Te Aroha is a beautiful place, well worth the journey🤗
Denise very kind and helpful. Bed very cosy and comfortable. In walking distance to the famous hot spas and domain and walking tracks. A great cafe in the domain too. Excellent coffee.
Although central to Te Aroha township, the accommodation is tucked away under a quiet mountain and is beautifully presented. My father enjoys staying here every time.
