Colleen, Leo & Millie (fur baby) you are all very special people who are so lovely and welcoming. Your special touches to this delightful room are so welcome and appreciated. We should have stayed here two nights instead of only one if we had only known what a tranquil piece of paradise this place is. Your gardens are magnificent. A real credit to you both. Millie is a very special addition to your family. What a little treasure you are Millie, and she loves lots of attention and loving. You are both so kind and delightful that if there were more lovely people like you, the world would be a lovelier place to live in. Leo, we love your extensive collection of old stuff and memorabilia. Thank you Leo for 'sneaking' your wonderful feijoas in our bag. They were very much appreciated. Your accommodation was by far the best in many ways.

A lovely relaxing small town to stop and stay in to break up journey if travelling between Queenstown and Christchurch - family friendly, everything in walking distance, nice cycleways, Barkers of Geraldine cafe and store is amazing too.

Pretty place in all seasons.
Pretty place in all seasons. Has interesting museums to visit. (And a gin distillery) Unfortunately as we stayed overnight on a Sunday all the museums we were looking forward to were closed on a Monday. The Gin distillery was also closed due to unforeseen circumstances. Shopping and browsing in shops was a delight. Apart from one very brusque retail assistant in The Page and Post Booksellers, everyone else we encountered in shops and art galleries was friendly, welcoming and made the experience a pleasant one. Special shout-out to the lovely hairdresser who agreed to cut my husbands hair without a booking!

Since leaving Oldfields in Geraldine, my husband realises that he has lost his prescription sunglasses and as Oldfields was our last accommodation in NZ, he is enquiring if he left these glasses at the property?
Could you please enquire on his behalf it that is the case.
We do not have owners Sue and John Jensen’s email address so we cannot contact them directly.
You assistance would be appreciated.

Geraldine is a charming small town.
Geraldine is a charming small town. Check out Barker's Food Store and the Susan Badcock Gallery over the old Post Office. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and the Peel Forest and its area of unspoiled native bush is a treasure, especially for its native bird life and 1,000 year old trees. There are many delightful restaurants and cafe´s in the area. Try the Cafe´Verde in Geraldine or the Woodbury Store Cafe´. Both are excellent. Geraldine is definitely a place to stop for a couple of days if you like mountain biking or hiking.

What a lovely wee town.
What a lovely wee town. I spent some time there because of family history reasons. Did some day trips to coast & surrounds, as well as some walking. The people were very friendly & helpful. Lovely quiet place to stay. Didn't really trial any restaurants apart from the Crowne Hotel where I stayed, & that didn't suit my palate.

The motel was great, I was on my way to Wanaka but wanted to break the journey and watch the All Blacks. I did that and the hosts assisted me given I was running late and I enjoyed a big brunch in mid morning just up the road which was great. So a fleeting visit but most enjoyable stay in Geraldine.
Where do we begin. The home is quiet, the master suite was spotless, modern, clean, and private. The host and hostess were gracious, friendly, accommodating and made us feel at home in Geraldine. We had only one night, but could have spent several more if we had the chance. The landscaping of the grounds made this place a paradise. The furry animals that roam the place added a nice homey touchy. Loved River and Misty! We would return to this hidden gem of a place.
This place is absolute paradise. Quiet, private and beautiful beyond compare. Just remembering my time here makes me well up with happy tears. I don't think I have ever been so relaxed than as during the nights I stayed at Nga Whare Manatu. This was the best location I stayed at in all of New Zealand and I just can't say enough positive stuff about this place. It sounds ridiculous but you'll go and you'll see and you'll say, "Oh, I get it."
Extremely happy with what was provided, we came in very late and checked out very early but they provided everything we needed and more. In some towns, we probably would've been kicked out (or not let in). I've never seen such great attitude and understanding from a host elsewhere in New Zealand. It may not be the fanciest or flashiest of hotels, but the service you get here trumps everything else. Again thank you for hosting us.
John is super friendly and happy to share tips like visiting the rhododendron walkway in Geraldine. The motel is at walking distance from the town, and parking right at your door if you prefer to drive. We didn't feel anything was missing, everything was clean and comfortable (great shower, comfortable bed). I'd definitely choose this place again when passing through Geraldine and break up the trip between Chch and the Lakes.
We were welcomed into John and Sue's home and made to feel like part of the family.
We had plenty of space to ourselves - a bedroom, sitting area, spacious bathroom with both bath and shower as well as our own private outdoor sitting area.
Sue is also a wonderful cook and breakfasts were a real treat!
The house is less than a 5 minute walk from Geraldine's High Street and restaurants but wonderfully quiet.
The best stay of our cross country New Zealand trip! Colleen and Leo are amazingly friendly hosts, the room was clean and showers were very warm, room was immaculately decorated with adequate space for 2, and the breakfast available was amazing. Thank you for capping off our holiday with this lovely stay
This was an exceptional stay. Lovely welcome hosts. We had absolutely everything we needed. The accomodations is spotlessly clean and comfortable and in a great location for walking into Geraldine.
Sue cooked us a delicious breakfast in the morning.
Vinnie and Sarah have a beautiful home overlooking farm land. The gardens that Sarah maintains are beautiful. You are welcomed with snacks and true "Southern Hospitality." The home is near Geraldine, NZ. Beautiful town. We truly enjoyed our stay ❤️.
Everything you need, comfortable beds, great kitchen facilities. Perfect for our one night stay. Hot Tub was wonderful. Geraldine town lovely to walk through and see the different shops. Loved the memorabilia on the Berry Barn Bakery.
Friendly welcome, late checkout allowed. Good location for exploring Geraldine - friendly dog! Guest laundry available. Not found in other stays. Well kept garden and seating areas and everything necessary was provided in the units.
our bedroom and bathroom were spacious, it was a beautiful looking hotel outside and in. The bed was very comfortable and the staff were very friendly and honest with lost property and very helpful for letting us check in early.
Right from the start, Fiona made us feel welcome. The accommodation is very nice, everything is clean, and it's very well situated. If you are travelling with your partner in Geraldine, it's an excellent opportunity!
Very clean room. Well located for walking into Geraldine. Quiet and had a lovely garden out the back. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Would stay here again,
