Fantastic accommodation in a beautiful peaceful setting ... to hear the birds and the running stream was so calming. A short stroll to an amazing beach with wonderful hosts. Could not ask for more.
The vacation home is composed of 1 separate bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen with a fridge and a stovetop, and 1 bathroom. Towels and bed linen are provided in the vacation home.
Beautiful coutryside to walk around and explore. Nice, well appointed cottage but don't expect luxury. The owners are better at sheep farming than as accommodation hosts. I would still go back now knowing what to expect, it is in such a beautiful and peaceful location.

Beaches and walks around the area are lovely.
Beaches and walks around the area are lovely. Would definitely recommend Cape Farewell & Milnthorpe Park Arboretum. The locals were really friendly and the meals were lovely at the hotel just around the corner and The Courthouse Cafe was really nice for breakfast.

Lovely wee spot.
Lovely wee spot. Nice place to be based when exploring the area especially Farewll Spit. Lots of history in the area.
Friendly locals, good food and service in cafes and restaurants. Remember to bring rain coats as weather can be changeable. Don't be in a hurry because a long walk along the beach is an absolute must.

If you travel this far you need to stay for af least two nights to do all the things that are close by. You will need one day just to do the Cape Farewell Spit tour if you want to do it justice. The other day would be spent driving/walking between the beaches and cliff lookouts. If you wanted to take a boat trip into Abel Tasman, that would be another day! Too much to see, not enough time.

The drive there is very hilly and takes longer than you imagine. Do not drive in the late afternoon, as the road faces west and the sun makes the hairpin bends tricky. Do visit Salisbury Bridge and Falls, it is in a scene in Lord of the Rings. On the way back stop and have tea and scones at the country store
Do visit the two museums, fascinating glimpse of its past
We had a wonderful stay at Twin Waters Lodge. Trish and Mike are fabulous hosts, and looked after us and the other guests beautifully. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the ensuite bathroom modern and well designed. The guest lounge/kitchen is great and it was lovely to prepare a couple of light meals there so we weren’t having to eat out all the time. The lodge is quiet but an easy 10 mins drive from Collingwood. It’s also great for getting to Farewell Spit. We had 3 nights there and loved every minute.
We adored everything about this place, the view, the chalet, bathroom the breakfast basket delivered the night before. We cooked on the bbq quite a bit too. Loved we could do laundry freely after 5pm. The owners and staff were all super lovely too. It was spotlessly clean and really felt 5 star. We also really liked the area close to collingwood and farewell spit.
A very nice place and easy walk to the tours and eatery.
A very good and warm welcoming host who has been kind enough to give good recommendations on food and places to visit
A very nice and comfortable bed for good nights sleep. Nice hot shower.
would love to be back and highly recommend this place for anyone wanting to stay in collingwood
Friendly staff and plenty of room. Picnic tables down by the water are perfect for a coffee/wine in the sun. Across the road from the Farewell Spit Eco Tours office so very handy if you're on that. (Which you shouldn't miss- it's a wonderful experience!) Great cafe also across the road. Collingwood is a lovely peaceful spot.
Rustic charm in a lovely part of New Zealand.
Simple crib/batch in the bush beyond Collingwood . Fire with wetback, electricity and running hot and cold water on edge of off grid.
Lovely night teaching the children euchre around the fire . A lovely place to unwind. Recommend
The place location was perfect in a quiet Collingwood. The town has a lots of history and is located in the center of the Golden Bay. There is a short driving distance to Wharariki Beach and Cape Farewell. You can see swimming seals in the Wharariki Beach pools.
Property was well managed; staff very pleasant. Stayed an extra night. Location was convenient to the beach, park attractions and Collingwood restaurants, groceries and petrol. Kitchenette had the basics.
We loved the location of the retreat on the headland above the beach near Collingwood in Golden Bay. Also having our own cabin in the forest and that the accommodation is dog-friendly.
Really interesting character accommodation in Edwardian house. Lots of space. Central in Collingwood and next door to the excellent Courthouse Cafe. Good shower in the bathroom.
