Mike and Jenny had good communication from start to finish. When I arrived Jenny met me and was oh so welcoming and friendly, Mike had just got home from work so I met him briefly too. The space was great, amenities and view from the accommodation was lovely! Great location and close to the point restaurant where I had the seafood chowder.

The best room we had in 4 weeks of touring NZ. Spacious, well equipped, and a beautiful sunrise a few steps through a sliding glass door onto a good sized deck with a view of the waves crashing on the beach. We visited nugget point lighthouse and we could see its lighthouse flashing from inside our room.

Rosebank lodge is a great spot. Rooms well appointed and fresh and clean. Staff friendly and helpful Restaurant had a good range of meals for most, just didn't cater for dairy free group member. Would highly recommend

Lovely little town!

Balclutha is hardly a much sought destination but it is in a prime location to base yourself as you visit the Catlins and the ample attractions on its door step. The river in particular is underrated and provides great fishing and kayaking. The town itself sports most of the shops you expect as well as a supermarket and some great eateries. The hi-light of my trip was definitely staying at the historic Fern & Thistle which is just out of town and is definitely the hidden gem of Clutha.JohnnyNew Zealand - 10Scored 10

Gorgeous vistas in the rural area, reminiscent of Lord of the Rings scenes. The locals are friendly and this is a nice place to stop when travelling. Highlights are the Bridge, walks along the Clutha River, and the rural views. The Raj Indian restaurant was really delicious, and the best coffee and cheese rolls are at Rosebank Cafe, south end of town.AAnonymous

Very welcoming hosts, only continental breakfast, but plenty of it and all very tasty. We used the hot tub in the evening, it was lovely sitting out under the stars. Just a short drive to Balclutha where we had a great Indian meal at the Raj. It was fascinating to read the history of the property and Benhar. It was the perfect location for us to explore the area and to visit Dunedin (approx 1 hr drive) on a rainy day. The garden and house are large and beautiful, the house itself, the room and bathroom are in sync with the character of the house. Bed was super comfortable and breakfast had enough choices to get us going in the morning.
