Very nice hotel on the beach front with a cute little pool. The pool gets the sun in the morning which is great to laze around and then head to the beach.
Clean and comfortable rooms. We had a room around the pool so had no issue with noise from the street or nearby bars.
Nice daily breakfast.

There's something magical about this little beach community.
There's something magical about this little beach community. The vibe and energy are great- restaurants and bars with excellent food & drink everywhere. Locals and tourists are friendly and helpful. We know a tiny bit of Espanol but were able to communicate with no issues, and English is spoken more prevalently than I had expected. Can't wait to visit again!!

It is a busy town, with lots of surfers and retired folks living or visiting. Lots of motorbikes for getting around. Some excellent restaurants along the beach front including Henry's Iguana Bar, and Maggies' Restaurant up the street. Good fish tacos at little kiosk. Great beach walks, lovely sunsets and a few hikes to do. One to the Jesus protecting the bay and the other to the lighthouse on the opposite side of bay. Wear good shoes for those.

Great little beach town with numerous bars and restaurants with amazing sunset views. Very walkable even in flip flops. Not a bad meal to be found! Lots of fun places to watch American football if you like that.

everything is walking distance, you can get to the know the town easily just walking around. I liked Vivian restaurant, nice place, clean, friendly staff.
the beach was full of trash... plastic trash, cups, bottles, cookie wraps, cans... trash all over the sand and in the ocean and for some reason nobody seems to care. it was very impressive and quite sad.
Looking Good Surf House was a great place to stay!

The town wasn't as bad as I was expecting!
The town wasn't as bad as I was expecting! pretty calm in the day and evening, not sure about after that! we were there 2 days and for us that was just right. We went to Remanso beach one day and Maderas beach the other. Rented boards at each and tried to surf! Maderas waves were better, at least when we were there in April. We were at the beaches for about 5 hours each day. I didn't love the fact that Remanso had no shade and neither seemed to have much for facilities, except the few bars/restaurants that you kinda had to eat/drink at in order to have some shade or a shower or somewhere to hang out. Not really my favourite scene. SJDS itself was small town seeming in the center and easy to get around walking and lots of food options and the beach in town was great to explore with the kids, swim or watch sunset. It's easy to get in and our of either on bus from Rivas or taxi- 20$ from the Ometepe Ferry for 4 of us. 25$ to the border organized through Casa Oro.

In the town there are a lot of open sewers and the smell is bad in many places. There is a lot of trash here and there. There is a lot of trash around the beach. The food is ok, the prices are alright. The better prices are away from the beachfront.
Tamarindo is a much nicer and cleaner beach. The Nica's need to clean up the trash and the open sewers.

The rooms had AC, own bathroom, the bed was comfy and it came with breakfast. The staff were super nice and helpful. San Juan Del Sur is a small town so it’s easy to walk anywhere you want to go unless you want to go to the beaches, then I highly recommend renting a scooter or a mode of transportation that works for you. The town offers shuttles to and from multiple beach locations but then you will be a part of the herd. If that’s your thing cool if not, and you want to explore on your own be sure to get your own transportation.
Staff at the hotel are great, the room was large, with a very comfortable bed. I thought the noise at night would be a problem because we were on the main road, but it was very quiet the 3 nights we stayed. The area felt very safe, and we walked around lots late at night without any issues. Breakfast was across the street at the restaurant. Breakfast was amazing and honestly that restaurant had some of the best food in town for other meals and with good value.
Very affordable. Great location, just a short walk on the beach to all of the restaurants and bars.
A wonderful little cat lives there and always greets you. The pool was great. Landscaping , trees, and flowers were beautiful. Comfortable hammocks and thatched roof restaurant made for nice working conditions. Decent Wi-Fi also.
Very secure. Walls and gates and somebody was always around
Eric and Valeria were hard-working, friendly, and helpful.
This is a great place to hang out with the family for a few days. Our room was huge with everything you need including a big comfy king size bed. The pool area is excellent and the place is very well maintained and beautifully planted. The food is amongst the best we tasted in Nicaragua and the waiting staff in the restaurant were also incredibly friendly and attentive.
This place has a good location, and for the price bracket in San Juan del Sur it is reasonable.
Free WiFi worked well
Nice cold shower to cool down
Use of kitchen etc
Overall it is fine for the price as long as you spend most of your time out and about. I wouldn't call it an especially nice place to stay but it's secure and there's a roof over your head.
The place itself is not nice at all, not very charming or anything, but has the necessary things (beds, bathrooms, mirror, fan) and is what you can expect for the price. It does the trick for a cheap place to stay. No AC, we didnt encounter much in Nicaragua, but the fan above the bed was very powerful and kept us cool throughout the night which was great.
To avoid confusion just consider this as a hostel and not a hotel. If i considered this as a hotel its not very good... but as a hostel i like it. I stayed 2 nights and this as a good value for the area. The location is perfect and it includes a very good breakfast. The room was large but very basic. The staff were amazing... very nice
Nice location at the top of the street so the view tl the bay is great. Nice rooftop. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast included and tasty. Towels available for free. Dorms clean and with everything you need for a good stay. Lockers available. Good wifi signal. This was a quiet option to stay in San Juan del sur.
Loved the location and the breakfast was our best in Nicaragua. Raphael our host was so friendly and super helpful. There was nothing that was too much trouble, it absolutely made our trip thank you. Would highly recommend to stay here....felt very safe and secure!
Carmine and his staff were very friendly and accomodating. The hotel was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good, especially the scrambled eggs with cheese and ham. It's right on the beach and within a short walking distance to the center of San Juan Del Sur.
The location is stunning and the service is the best! Amazing friendly and supportive in all our needs. The pool is a great addition to the beach next to it. A secret feature was the turtle rescue center right next to the hotel.
Pool is amazing and great fun. The food was also very good. I expected a nice pool, the rooms and overall hotel was nicer than I expected. We had a great experience and I would recommend to stay here.
Palermo was an excellent place to spend time with family, visit the San Juan del Sur Bay at night and have a restful night away from the noice and the party goers at night.
