Large pool and beautiful jungle setting. Good pool side areas with lots of shade.
Food at dinner was very tasty and good value.
The management agreed to room upgrade after the room we were given was not good. ( check whether your room has a balcony as the rooms in the 'block' do and those in the main building do not )
Playing pool before dinner
Great AC in the rooms
Good value safari driver arranged by the staff in the hotel ( tip. we paid the driver $40 for the driver, and bought tickets on arrival at the Udawalawe park entrance. you can pick up a local volunteer guide in the car park as you buy your tickets who can talk through the animals and park detail. we then tipped the guide around $10. The total for the 3 hour safari worked about $40 per person)

Udawalawe is an ELephant Safari park primarily and one would expect to see many elephants however pls inquire from your hotel prior booking because during the hot season you will not see elephants freely roaming around. also if there are too many vehicles entering it becomes too crowded.
If the days are hot and humid suggest not going in the morning you wont see animals

The restaurant has a great offer and good prices & the staff is so friendly and helpful! Of course we did a safari that was arranged by the hotel. Our drivers name is ravind and he did such a wonderful job, I would always recommend him. He was friendly, helpful and translated the animals name in his language. He did his best so we could spot a lot of different animals and of course a ton of elephants! We really enjoyed the time with him.

beautiful and unique designed bungalows. very cool to stay after a safari. pool was also very nice. it is not far from Udawalawe national park but might be slightly outside the normal 5 km distance that safari providers usually pick up from for free. not much farther outside of this range though and safaris can also be organized through the hotel directly instead. bathroom for each bungalow is very cool and unique and outside but not exposed you get a neat experience.
This is a brand new hotel. Everything is sparking clean, the pool is one of the nicest I’ve ever used. The room had a balcony and a view on a field so in the morning, we watched the peacocks walking around. We loved that the room had a view of this field, we were just in the middle of the nature. The hotel is very close to the National Park. The staff is really nice and kind.
I really recommend the hotel, it was one of our best stays in Sri Lanka.
The hosts were amazing to say the least! They were so friendly and helpful. We went on a safari arranged by the host and it was spectacular! We saw at least 60-70 elephants, many of which were only a few feet away from our Jeep. We had dinner and breakfast at the house which was made by the hosts, and it was definitely among the best meals that we had in our week long stay in Sri Lanka. You will not find a better place to stay in Udawalawe.
Lovely family owned small hotel. The owner & his family are really welcoming. The organized a safari for us and we had a delicious rice an curry for dinner (best we had so far in Sri Lanka!). After the morning safari we could do a late check out and even have some fresh breakfast. All was super clean & everyone was so friendly. Sadly we could stay only 1 night. Highly recommended if you want to visit Udawalawe!

Probably the best place we've stayed in Sri Lanka so far. Very good value for money. Brilliant host and great location near the national park. He organised a safari for us in his jeep, which was great. Very clean rooms and newly fitted bathroom with soap, flannels etc. . Brilliant dinner and breakfast .I say to all tourists in Sri Lanka this place is very good..thank you.
We stayed in the Baby Elephant Green House for one night before our safari in Udawalawe National Park. We loved the place. The owners are so nice and welcoming, they prepared a delicious Sri Lankan dinner and in the early morning a ‘take-out’ breakfast for our safari. They organised a perfect safari tour for us.
The room was very comfortable, spacious and clean.
This is one of the best hotels with everything that you need with a good price. We had a wonderful stay. Very relaxing environment, Clean and spacious room with an amazing view, friendly staff, delicious food. Unfortunately, we did not have enough time to go to safari and other activities but if you are planning to stay here it would be a great experience!
We stayed for 2 nights in the tree house and enjoyed it so much.
It cant be better for this price.
The host and his family werde super nice and friendly. He also gave us a little present after Our stay.
Brekfast and dinner also were excellent and we ate the best dahl on Our Trip.
ONE poor thing is that Udawalawe national Park raised their prices a lot.
The owner is a great guy with nearly 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry. He arranged a safari at Udawalawe National Park for us, as well as transportation back to Colombo. The food was delicious and not too spicy. Great location surrounded by a forest of teak trees. The place had a diesel generator for backup power during outages.

Perfect base for safaris to Udawalawe National Park. The hotel organised a great safari tour and paired me up with another solo traveller which helped reduce the costs for us both. The buffet dinner was brilliant! The facilities are modern and the rooms are massive. Brilliant value for money.
We had a very good stay here. The room was one of the best we have stayed at in Sri Lanka for a budget hotel. He organised a half day safari for us at a very good price. Recommended places to go and eat. Breakfast was really good. Highly recommend this place for your stay in Udawalawe
It’s a hidden gem. Fantastic value for the price. The owner went out of his way to accommodate our requests. From poolside you can watch water birds and other wildlife plentiful by the river. We also had some of the best curry we’ve had in Sri Lanka.
The pool is the best part of this hotel, it's super clean and large. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable.
The manager helped us to order a take away as we arrived too late to order dinner.
Very close to the entrance to the park.
Luxurious accommodation with a terrace and a view of the pool, an excellent restaurant, a friendly staff. 0.5 km from a supermarket and a wine shop, the hotel will arrange a safari to Udawalawe National Park.
Very nice environment, clean and comfortable bungalows and 2 nice swimming pools. Restaurant is nice and people are very helpful. The hotel also organizes good Safari tours in Udawalawe National Park.
A beautiful hotel near the Udawalawe National Park. Food was great, lots of choices for breakfast, dinner, we were welcomed and looked after by friendly staff.
