Earl's Regency Hotel, hotel in Kandy

Earl's Regency Hotel is a luxurious 5-star hotel located a 5 km from Kandy Railway Station. It offers spacious accommodation with a spa, an outdoor pool and free parking.

We only booked two nights at the hotel, but were so comfortable and happy, we booked another night - what more can I say! Everything from the friendly and helpful personnel, room / pool services, buffet meals and additional amenities were fantastic, I cannot fault Earl's Regency Hotel. Also, must be one of the best pools I've ever experienced. Eye opening clean, nestled into the surrounding rock outcrops and waterfall, with a proper Sri Lankan forest view that gets kissed by the setting son in the evening. The hotel's location is great and easily accessible and 15min away from Kandy Lakes and the beautiful and intriguing city and all it has to offer. I will miss waking up and going outside on my balcony overlooking the lush green forests of Kandy, the beautiful pool and later walking across an impressive and pretty bridge to some of the best food I had in getting ready for my day.

    A cultural eye-opener.

A cultural eye-opener. Lots to see and do - but most major attractions are spread far from one another. Expect to take a couple full days touring Kandy and the surrounding areas. Two of my strongest recommendations: the British Was Cemetery. The caretaker has tended the graveyard for decades and knows each detail about each soul laid to rest. Also a sight worth seeing is Peradeniya University. A remarkable campus that lives up to its reputation as one of the nicest in all of South Asia.

This place is amazing! It has an amazing pool area where you can relax and watch the sunset over the city. Also, the terrace and indoor area is beautiful and easy to socialise with other guests. The interior of the rooms and bathrooms is also very beautiful. The shower was the best I had in Sri Lanka and finally hot water!! Also, I met some lovely other solo traveler. The location is very nice - just a little bit out of the noisy Kandy up a hill to relax after a full day in the city. But still, you are just a quick Tuktuk drive away.

Location was fantastic, it overlooked Kandy on a quiet hillside, whilst only being a short drive via tuk tuk into town. Great walks around the hotel that lead into some quieter tea plantations and temples to visit. Staff were very helpful and always keen have a chat and offer tips for exploring the local area. Facilities were wonderful, there's a pool area that overlooks Kandy and you can sit out and watch over the hills and city. The food served in the restaurant was delicious, would recommend trying the Sri Lankan breakfast!

SWP Eco Lodge is centrally located to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth. It is literally a 5 minute walk across the street and so is Kandy Lake. Location is the best part of this hotel, and the friendly staff always willing to help. Our main concern was safety, and we felt safe during our stay. The views of Kandy Lake and the Temple of the Scared Tooth are amazing from our balcony of our room and from the kitchen. This hotel is recommend is highly recommended if coming to see the annual Kandy Perehera.

OZO is a modern and comfortable hotel in a great location on the south side of the lake in Kandy. it is far enough from the centre to be quiet, but at the same time is within walking distance of the town centre and the main sights. We had a room with a stunning view of the lake and hills beyond. The food was some of the best we had in Sri Lanka (the only compliant would be that the coffee could be better!) Want to hear the birds singing in the morning yet sleep only 500 meters from the city centre? Mirabe Funk Bunks is located up the mountain slope just before the forest takes over.
