The comfortable chalets away from the hustle of Ella and Bandarawela are tucked away in a beautiful garden with plenty of flowers. The owner arranged an excellent tour on our way to Ella rock with an open 4X4 vehicle during which we experienced a most beautiful forest with eucalyptus trees ever seen, and thereafter the historical train and the 9 arches bridge and a scenic drive through the legendary Lipton thee estate with a visit to the authentic production hall. Warmly recommended.

Bandarawela is a busy, bustling town with all the major banks and a couple of Food City stores as well as many other shops and kadas.
Just by the post office is the Bandarawela Hotel which is quiet and away from all the town bustle so ideal for a pit stop.
Bandarawela is a good alternative to staying in Ella as it is less touristy but still in easy reach if you want to visit Ella. Out of the city the air is cool and fresh and the hills provide a respite for the weary traveller.
From Bandarawela station you can take the train to Nanu Oya - for Nuwara Eliya, and Kandy or Hatton and indeed Colombo.

From the moment of check in to check out, I had a wonderful stay at orient hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and professional and the food was delicious. Special mention must be made to the GM Mr. Chandima who was always on the scene and attentive to our needs. We were also provided with a Trek to Ella Rock accompanied by hotel staff and a packed hotel lunch which was an incredible experience I would highly recommend. Overall was a great visit and will definitely be staying here again next time I visit.
This is a little gem just a few minutes away from Bandarawela town. The staff and owners Lalith and Nirupa are exceptional hosts and were committed to comfort of us. The house is very homely and felt like our own home. Nirupas cooking was amazing, the milk rice was a die for. While the rooms are not luxurious, they feel like a home. The blankets were very nice. Highly recommend for a family or group to have a night out. You can catch the beautiful sunrise from the room itself.
Hotel arrenged us a sightseeing tour taha was amazing. Well trained tour staff. They are experts on tours. They have jeep type vehicles, ideal for sightseeing. We just wanted to make the request for a tour, they planned it and made it exceeding our expectations. Thank you guys. We had a nicely presented breakfast. Walked through the tea estates and were able to have tea plucking experience too. Room was super clean. Well traind hotel staff. Sri Lankan's hospitality is amazing.
One of my favourite hotels in the world. Where else would you be welcomed with a cup of cinnamon tea and a plate of biscuits? Staying here really does take you back to the British Colonial era, whether the original tea planters’ club or the wartime nursing home for recovering soldiers. Staff are long-serving and exceptionally friendly and the restaurant does a very good set menu dinner. A real gem which somehow continues to offer affordable rates.
The location is incredible, on the hillside surrounded by trees and great for wildlife spotting. We saw more wildlife species here than we did anywhere else in Sri Lanka. The food was delicious with large portion sizes and the staff were incredibly accommodating with any query or request we had. We really liked spending time up at the restaurant space and exploring the site of the estate on foot.
My girlfriend and I truly enjoyed our stay at Ovitiyas Bandarawela. We took the train from Kandy and the location was very conveniently located - close to the town. The hospitality was warm and welcoming. Our accommodations were comfortable and very well maintained. Dining was a very good experience, with the staff even arranging us an outdoor candle-lit dinner. It was a delightful visit.
I came to bandarawela for a business matter. The location of the hotel was fantastic and the view from the bed room amazing, straitly facing to the mountain of Nuwara eliya and Namunukula. The calm environment makes me very concentrate about my business things . Very delicious food and frendly staff. Owner arrange the pick-up and dropped totally free to the railway station. Recomend.
We booked two rooms at Grand Jumbo hotel for our family. It was an amazing place with a nice view. Staff was very friendly. We took dinner and breakfast at their restaurant and both were really good. Rooms and washrooms were clean and neat. Enviorenment is calm and beautiful. I recommend this place to anyone who is looking for accommodation near bandarawela area
I stayed here for 2 nights while attending a training session on Bee Keeping. The place is quiet after dark and very calming after a day of work. I especially like how Grand Jumbo Hotel & Restaurant was able to make me ready for my busy workday with fresh new energy. Also, the place is very affordable even during the ongoing financial situation in the country.
Neat and tidy place with calm environment. Place has a small garden with it's own restaurant area. Only a few rooms available yet those are bigger and well maintained thus totally worth the price. Pool table is for free to those who stay there. Food were delicious and fair price.
Location very convenient to Ella Ravana Falls
Nice view from the rooms & garden full of flowers
Very clean & parking safe parking facilities inside the building. So no worries
Very close to bandarawela town & many locations
No disturbances @ all. You can relax peacefully
This was one of the most beautiful places I have stayed at in a long while. Everything about the place was simply sublime. The views from the hotel are to die for, the service was excellent and the staff were some of the most gracious and helpful people you'll ever meet.
The hotel was so to the town and the facilities were really good. The room was spacious and comfy and really clean.
And all the meals were served really fresh and were delicious and above the hospitality of the staff was unbelievable .THe staff was really friendly
The place gives us a natural, vibrant atmosphere with all the locations and scenery. During our journey, we booked the place and the owner was extremely helpful. He waited until midnight until we arrived. Without a doubt, we will suggest this place in Bandarawela.
Very nice house, impeccably clean and perfectly maintained; beautiful wooden furniture; lots of inside and outside seating areas; well equipped large room with balcony overlooking the city; excellent Sri Lankan food; nice and helpful staff; will come again
Mountain view with nice balcony and terrace. good breakfast and dinner. From hotel it's take about 20 minutes to reach Ella nine arch bridge ,little Adams peak, rawana Ella,Ella gap, dowa temple, haputale Lipton seat, adishom bangalow
Location was actually amazing and had a really great experience, main thing is scenery that was really amazing, staff also really amazing highly recommended this place to spend your vacation when you visit Sri lanka.
The rooms are clean & spacious. Friendly staff with great service. There was not a huge spread of food but the food was delicious. Walking distance of Bandarawela town. Highly recommended.
Beautifull location with mountaion view. Nice balcony. Compotable bed room with hot shower. Lowest price in bandarawela. Near the cargills food city and resturent. Value for money.....
Breakfast not included and for $10 US was infinitely bland and poorer in quality and quantity than what you would get at any family run guest house in Sri Lanka.
