Anzio is a non-touristic, quiet port town.
Anzio is a non-touristic, quiet port town. Decent beaches, both free and paid. A good starting point for hydrofoil travel to Ponza Island. From here there are hydrofoils that will take you there in an hour and a half. Other places only use regular cruise ships, but they offer a four-hour journey. There are many good restaurants with local fresh fish and seafood as well as local wines. A place worth staying for shorter and longer periods.

if you want to stay near Rome and have the benefit of a cooler summer atmosphere and a beach holiday this it , far better than staying Ostia or Fiumicino. frequent trains air conditioned and an hours journey rome for targeted visiting.

Our room overlooked the beach and it was a fantastic view. The balcony had a table and chairs where we could sit and watch the waves and sunset - beautiful! The room was small, but clean. The wardrobe had plenty of space to hang clothes and the bed was quite comfortable. There is also a rooftop terrace with chairs and tables for guests to enjoy. We really appreciated the fridge full of water bottles for guests as it was very hot during our stay.MattieCanada

Owner of the mansion (his name is Angelo) was very helpful and friendly to us. He helped us to find the place and get there from the train station.
