Our room was very spacious and comfortable. We were greeted by a friendly person and made arrangements for a great dinner. The breakfast, which was included, was very good with many choices. I would definitely stay here again.
Opened in July 2018, Hótel Kría is situated in Vík. Among the various facilities are a garden and a bar. There is a restaurant. The black sand beaches begin about 5 minutes' walk from the hotel.

We loved the breakfast room with its huge mountain views and with one glass wall facing down the coast. The food was very good too.
Our room was very well prepared and we had a very good nights sleep.
Next time I might book a Mountain facing room as I think that view is better.

The room was big and comfortable and quiet as there aren’t many rooms. The breakfast was complimentary and very tasty. The staff lady was very helpful.

The house was clean and warm. The kitchen is well equipped. There were also some sweets for us ❤️
The location is a sheep farm and now is the lamb season. The owner let us see them ❤️❤️

Must try black crust pizza.
Must try black crust pizza. The lookout point at Dyrhólaey panoramic views, don't miss it and of course the Black Sand beach. To visit the crashed US plane, either we can walk for 3 hours (both ways) or take shuttle which will cost ISK3000 per person.

Vik is a picturesque gem tucked along the country's stunning south coast! Reynisfjara Beach is easily accessible, where black sand meets crashing waves with towering basalt columns as the backdrop. The wind can get too strong which makes a part of the beach dangerous (sneaker waves warning), but it is still well worth visiting. The town is charming with cozy cafes (try the black crust pizza!), the locals are warm and welcoming. This town is the perfect location to embrace the opportunity to disconnect and immerse yourself in Iceland's raw beauty.

We stayed in Vik for 3 days. Totally loved it.
We stayed in Vik for 3 days. Totally loved it. It is quite a small town, but has a big supermarket (kronan), a really great quality hiking clothes/supplies store, plus a number of cafes and places to eat. We recommend Sudur Vik Restaurant especially.
We did the Katla Track ice cave tour which was amazing and left from Vik!! Also recommend Icelandic Mountain Guides Snowmobile tour - meeting point 25 mins drive from Vik. Black Sand beach is great, as is local open air pool.
We stayed in the Vik hotel which is fabulous, but as we were there for three days, I would have preferred an apartment. The hotel also operates the Vik Apartments (which I hadn't realised before I booked) - they look really good.

We based our family of 5 in Vik to explore the southern coast over 3 nights with our rental car. We found it easier to have one base rather than a different hotel each night.
We visited the Skogafoss Waterfall, Black Sand Beach, YODA caves, gorge hike, Glacier walk at Skaftafell and then onto the Glacier lagoon and Diamond Beach.
We didn’t eat out as it was expensive for what appeared average food so we went to the local supermarket and cooked back at our self catered apartment.
Vik offers lots of adventure based companies who organise tour and expeditions.
The host and location were what I liked the most about the property. Perfect location and a walk to everything in Vik! This was one of my favorite stays in all of Iceland! Everything was clean, cozy and accommodating. Breakfast was great and we were even able to take some for lunch. She was so informative and gave us great information for our adventuring! Beds were comfy. View of The beach, Great shower! I just can not say enough great things about this stay!!!! Thank you Kozy Vik for making my stay in VIK one of my favorites!
My favourite hotel I've visited!
The staff were lovely, very kind and helpful in terms of travel advice, and seemed to be authentic and honest - which was much appreciated.
What really got us was the fact that they had a Northern Lights 'wake up' call! This meant at 3am my sister and I saw green light dance across the sky - it made our trip. We could't believe our luck!
Stunning surroundings, perfect for what we wanted to see in Iceland, and the food in the restaurant was to die for.
This was an extraordinary stylish and beautiful hostel. My daughter and I stayed in a room with 6 bunkbeds. The showers and bathrooms were spotless. There was a small bar and you could purchase coffee and baked goods for breakfast. We didn't cook but they had a great kitchen for those who prefer to carry and make their own meals. The location was excellent on the same road as one of the most famous black sand beaches in Iceland.
We had Vik as one of our first stops along the Ring Road after Reykjavik and we’re so happy to find the full size washer and dryer there, and all of the other thoughtful design features of this holiday home. If we return to Iceland, we hope to stay longer in the area and enjoy the stay in the apartments more. It was a great place for our group of four adults and made for a more affordable stop.
We had a room in the hostel. It was huge! Enough space for all our luggage and camera gear. Very clean room with a comfy bed; king size and two separate duvets. Also a lovely location, very close to a famous black beach in Iceland and Vik an 8 minute drive away. Vik had an excellent burger bar (fun and hip) and The Barn had a great bar open until 23:30 to come back to and enjoy.
Great spot in Vik, perfect for exploring the area with plenty of parking.
Room was clean and beds were comfy, ideal for one or two nights stopover while you're seeing the delights of Iceland.
A big thanks to the person on reception who came and got us to tell us the Northern Lights were visible!
The bathroom and shower were a good size too, good for sharing with friends.
The charm of the older hotel and rooms were very nice and the staff were friendly. The beds were clean and comfortable. A huge plus the restaurant next door was really wonderful the food was delicious! Also the breakfast in the hotel itself was very good and offered a great assortment of food! Our first night in Iceland did not disappoint at the hotel Puffin!
Convenient location in Vík for a ring road tour. The family room was quite nice: upper loft with two twin beds for kids, with parents on the lower level—one of the few family rooms I’ve stayed in while in Iceland where kids were in a separate area, which was nice. Ample breakfast buffet with tons of options, great shower products and nice linens.
This is an excellent hotel for lovers of nature. It's in the middle of the Icelandic wilderness, next to the ring road, with plenty of exciting exploration activities nearby. It has a hot tub and a sauna, and the restaurant has both a-la carte and buffet options, with great variety and high quality of food. The rooms are comfortable and spacious.
The Vik Apartments are brand new, spacious and very comfortable. We rented a two-bedroom apartment which was perfect for our stay. We found that accommodation in Iceland is quite expensive, however, the Vic apartment offert value and comfort for money compared to other properties we stayed at in the area.
This was one of the best guesthouses where we stayed during our trip in Iceland. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious, and the bathrooms very clean. Also the big hall used for breakfast with view over Vik is simply amazing. Definitely exceeded our expectations.
Lovely hotel, bright with large windows and lovely view overlooking the landscape of southern Iceland. Great place to stay close to Vik and regional sites. Delicious breakfast, comfortable rooms, nicely decorated & very welcoming.
The room was much better and more spacious than I expected after staying in several other locations in Iceland. We were so pleased with the cleanliness and quality of the room, especially the kitchenette and bathroom.
The best hotel we stayed at during our week in Iceland. Staff were all excellent, particularly the man on reception. Everywhere was modern, stylish and spotlessly clean. Amazing views from the restaurant
If you want to tour the South of Iceland and be centered near Vik I Myrdal than this place was perfect. Nicely remodeled, generous room size, clean, great breakfast included. Best value in the area.
The cottage is very stylish and have all the amenities needed. Its very new and well kept. We loved the village (Vik). I definitly recommend it as the price quality ratio for iceland is very good
I like the breakfast, the room and the bathroom. The bathroom is very comfy and huge. It just feel like at home, the overall ambience is awesome, one of the best stay i have in iceland.
